Suhana's Corner: A fun-filled week with the family

Hi friends, how are you all doing? I have had a very busy week as Khushi takes up most of my time. It seems the world has stopped spinning and everything revolves around my little darling. A lot has been happening this week with Khushi's antics to Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day. It has indeed been a week of celebrations.
I never thought that the biggest pleasure in the world would be when your child calls you Ma for the first time. But when Khushi did call me Ma over and over again, much to the chagrin of Disha didi, I was overjoyed and on cloud nine. I could go on and on about my elated state but Ma and Radha bua put a damper in my mood when they revealed that it was a toy that Khushi was pressing against, which made the sound Ma and not her. They also added that a two month old baby can't talk but I argued that there have been geniuses and miracles in this world.
That wasn't all, I had to argue and reason with Disha didi about allowing me take Khushi to the Most Beautiful Baby Contest. Our Khushi is the prettiest baby in the whole world and she should be celebrated and commemorated for that. But Disha didi gave me gyaan about what it would mean to her, what lesson would she learn from this and these are the wrong values to inculcate in a child so young. That was so illogical - I mean Khushi is a kid, she wouldn't even remember but it would be a happy occasion for all of us, if she won. Thankfully, after a lot of haggling, she agreed.
Though, I have been busy with Khushi, I have realised that of late, Badima goes out regularly and a couple of times she seemed distracted too. I wonder if something is bothering her. She hid a letter once when I entered the room and I have seen her wool gathering many times. I hope everything is fine with her and maybe she confides in someone at home- even me. Perhaps, I should have a chat with her soon. Everyone at home is also busy with ma's childhood friend coming soon. It is always fun when interesting people come to stay a while. We get to hear new stories and meet someone new.
With Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan this weekend, it was fun time for all of us. We had a great time tying rakhis and gorging on sweets. I don't have a brother but with Inder bhaiya and Ilesh bhaiya in my life now, I don't miss not having a brother anymore. They have been with me through all ups and downs, in happiness and sorrow and I couldn't have asked for better brothers than them. I thank God for such loving caring brothers and such a wonderful family. Yes I feel lucky and cherished too.
Do write to me and tell me how you celebrated Raksha Bandhan at suhana@starplus.in and don't forget to watch Sasural Genda Phool every Monday to Friday at 7.30 pm only on STAR Plus.
