What is the be difference btwn Shyam and ASR??

There are at least two schools of thought on love and commitment:

Arnav actually thinks about Khushi along with her feelings..there is no lust involved till now.She's struck him very hard on his ego so there are various emotions involved. But for Shyam he's not in love her,he just wants her coz she's naive,pretty looking. It's actually plain lust.

A right now there is nothing heroic abt arnav and nothing absolutely lecherous abt shyaam. I guess the Cvs are yet to develop the characters so that the contrast between the antagonist and the protagonist gets cleared up. My best guess would be that we will start seeing these two folks in diff light once their past is exposed. That Iam sure is going to throw some good light on Arnavs character and some bad light on shyaams.

Haha ya Iam watching it and am quiet fond of Anjali Arnavs and kushi payals bond. I have just one complaint abt Arnavs role and that is I wish they stop showing him remembering kushi's falling pallu every time he thinks of her. Wonder what the cvs wanto make of Arnavs character by showing such things. I agree he is an hard nut to crack kinda guy but comeon we all wouldve loved If he remembers something more pure than just that scene. Guess that's a small glitch .

I kinda liked how they didn't show Shaam too out and out lusting for Kushi. Thankgod for small mercies. Warna bearing him beside Anjali wouldve been nightmarish.

As a school of thought both are absolute but then rarely life is that black and white...

if one is applicable so can the other...

my perception of the two character are as follows:

Arnav

1. He believes he controls his life the way wants to.
2. he lives under his own terms and conditions
3. lavanya is the conscious choice he has made
4. he does not believe in rituals or marriage
5. he is committed enough to la to ask her to move in with him

now things that he cannot control
1. meeting Khushi again and again...especially the last two times it was providence isnt it?
2. their volatile interaction - right from first meeting falling in his lap and him assuming she is out there to sabotage
3. he is enraged by her, her impudence, her disobedience.
4. he is enamored by her simplicity, religious beliefs (yes for he respects her beliefs), brevity, courage and ingeniousness ( the way she had gotten the measurements)
5. he is baffled by her resourcefulness
6. stunned by her capabilities
7. he feels guilt for having physically and emotionally bruising her
8. he is concerned for her, instinctively.

now he does not like these things. there is a word association with Khushi whether it is the word chamkili, lucknow or other aspect like the aarti ki thali or devi maiyya's murti.
her thoughts intrude his psyche, again not something he welcomes.
he questions his thoughts, he questions his actions and does not place her in the same league as La whom he defends and is lenient towards (today at the table and not telling her off in front of her chamees)
but he is riled by Khushi. He taunts her. He is a reluctant admirer of her strength and resilience.

Shyam

1. he is full of duplicity
2. slick ( no offence to you but a perfect portrayal of a slick lawyer who has a silver tongue)
3. smart
4. suave.
5. fearful of his wife and their relationship always casts a shadow in his life and dealings. he does look over his shoulder
6. he has admitted to khushi of missing her
7. wanting to meet her
8 happy to see her.
9 Blatant liar
10 he looks at khushi with desire. be it for her innocence, simplicity or indian beauty, he is taken by her looks

now he has a wife and he knows it. he hides it. he plays both the wife and khushi and her family.
he tries to embed himself in khushi's life by helping her. he followed her.
he is doing what is a deliberated, chalked out plan of action
he has not said the truth

Arnav does not know the truth of his feelings. he does not even know they are there... only word association has happened so far. whether it was about the word concern when his sister told him or other words, he associates things with her and does not like it but in his compartmentalised life Khushi and La do not compete for a spot in the same file the headings are different

1. is his choice
2. khushi is a thorn

so yeah i dont think they are on equal footing or even in same school of thought
the common aspect is that they are both thinking of the same person

One cannot help it and the other does not want to leave it
