gopi runs up to him n is crying n says aham i did not do it, maybe this will start something good, he has see her studying late at night n working so surely this will open his eyes

He definitely believes her. It was all those little sleeping scenes and waking up in the middle of the night looking for her that were shown earlier makes him believe in Gopi.

He was a gentle Ahem who listened patiently whilst sobbing Gopi explained what happened in the test.

Hopefully this will also prove to Ahem that Gopi is as honest as she seems and does not pretend and also that she is serious about her studies
