Bhawanji Bha- Ramesh Talwar plays the role of Bhawanji Bha the man responsible for IM Virani's (Shiv Subramanium) success. Ramesh Talwar the veteran director who is well known for his award winning films like Basera and Doosra Aadmi will be soon seen as BhawanjiBha. He has also assisted Yash Chopra on films like Silsila and Kabhie Kabhie.
Ramesh says, "Vipul (writer) is a dear friend and assured me only I could play this role. While I have enjoyed my stint in theatre, I never thought of debuting on the small screen. Portraying the character of Bhawanji in Mukti Bandhan will be my first show on TV."
Master-Baa: A husband-wife pair being enacted by real-life brother and sister, Utkarsh Mazumdar and Meenal Patel. Utkarsh plays Motilal Virani and Meenal, Kesarba, parents of the protagonist I M Virani. Utkarsh and Meenal are cousins in real life and are very close to each other. But, the most interesting part is that Utkarsh is 12 years younger to Meenal.
Utkarsh confirmed the same and said, "It's a role we are playing and it's not our real life. If one plays the role of an old man he does not become an old man. It's just a character that he or she is playing. And, in the first place the age that we are playing it won't have any romantic scenes as such.(little did he know back then😆)At times it is awkward to be husband and wife but, since we haven't got to play such scenes yet, it's all well."
He continues talking about his sister, "She is a very fine actor and as we have been working together for years. Our chemistry matches. I am really thankful to her for she brought me to theatre."
Chinu Choksi: Ami Trivedi's father (someone tell me who he/ she is😆)and known Gujarati theatre actor Tushar Trivedi is making his comeback on television nearly after a decade in Mukti Bandhan. Trivedi will play the character of Chinu Choksi..
I was in London for almost nine years, I was busy with my plays there and returned to India a few days back. I have just shot for my introductory sequence and I liked this character a lot, he is a bit selfish and greedy. I was really excited to face the camera after many years and I am really happy to be back."
Trivedi has done more than 100 plays and shows including Nukkad, Philips Top Ten, Shriman Shrimati and many others.
Devki: the talented Esha Kansara, all of 18 and a trained bharatnatyam dancer assays the role of Devki in Mukti Bandhan. Esha was one of the 100 finalists in Zee's reality show Dance India Dance.
And for the uninitiated. .who don't already know about the laurels of Shiv Subramaniam.. aka IMV.. our dark lord here goes..
Shiv Subramaniam: While "Parinda" won him the best screenplay and "Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi", the best story writer, Shiv Subramaniam better known as IM Virani in " Mukti Bandhan" is now proving his versatility on the small screen .
From playing credible roles like inspector Lobo in "Kaminey" and professor Bose in "Teen Patti", Shiv has come a long way in bagging a powerful role on television. He is married to the very talented actress Divya Jagdale. She was recently seen in the film Stanley Ka Dabba.

So in summary.. while we bicker about TRPs and plots and mundaneness of the show.. debate about principles and ideologies.. here's just one post.. to sit and dwell on one more reason why this show is such sheer greatness... even the smallest of roles are played by people who have accomplished so much in their field.. its overwhelming to say the least.. Lets take a moment and salute the awesome team (actors and the crew that does a swell job in each and every dept)
We may not realize it.. but this looks like a conscious effort of some of the biggies to make a difference in the extremely stale and mundane genre on TV called FICTION.. just for that.. I bow to thee
