Priyanka Chopra going to enact a transvestite?
This one's got to be the strangest of all rumours. And if at all it turns out to be true, then the much-talked-about Ra.One will have yet another weapon that promises a massive opening for the film.
However, the makers may not have intended their film to be publicised this way.
Because, recently, a leading international website has alleged that Priyanka Chopra is playing a transvestite in the film in which she has a cameo.
Although Priyanka has experimented with a variety of roles in her career so far, choosing to play a transvestite might be taking things a little too far, feel industry insiders.
A source says, "It was shocking to see something like this, that too on a highly reputed international website. It's so incredible that it almost seems like someone is trying to spread silly rumours just for the sake of it."
Understandably, director Anubhav Sinha isn't pleased at all with this unexpected turn of things. He too alleges that it's a conspiracy to creative some negativity around the film.

"One must remember that anyone can log in and post an opinion on such open websites. Some people, when they fail to gather correct information, tend to get malicious and start spreading rumours. Since Priyanka's cameo in the film is a closely guarded secret, some desperate soul may have updated something as outrageous as this, only to create trouble. It's just sad, because by no stretch of imagination can one actually imagine Priyanka in such a role," he says.
As for who may have spearheaded the gossip, we can only keep guessing for now.
