Well, some do have cheap mentalities...n in the rural areas in Asia, husband drinking n beating wife n at last killing her is very common... some child in family do suffer cause of fighting of parents... these things r common... yah i pray that too dear...

Mayank closed Nupur's diary and went to Nupur's room with it. Keeping the diary on the place where it was, he went to the hall. He wandered around in the main hall with lines of worry on his face. "Nupur ne kaha tha ke woh shaam ko aayegi. Abhi toh raat ho gayi hai! Nupur abhi tak aayi kyun nahi?", Mayank said to himself tensely.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Mayank rushed to the door even before the maid and opened it. A smile curved on his face seeing the person in front of him.

"Arey Nupur, tum aa gayi. Aao!", Mayank said and let Nupur in. He had a smile of relief on his face. Nupur came in and stared at him confusedly. He was behaving differently, she thought. She threw herself on the couch and closed her eyes as she was too tired. Mayank ordered the maid to bring a glass of water. The maid nodded and went to the kitchen.

Mayank sat beside Nupur and started massaging her forehead. Nupur opened her eyes in shock. She looked at her side and saw Mayank smiling at her very sweetly. She stared at him confusedly and thought, "Achanak se aisa behaviour?" But the next very moment, a slight smile curved on her face seeing Mayank's cute and caring behaviour for her.

"Mayank, main theek hoon. Aap ko mera sar dabaane ki zarurat nahi hai.", Nupur said with a casual smile. Mayank smiled at her back and said, "Tum bohot thaki hui lag rahi ho so thoda sa dabaa deta hoon. Aur waise bhi sab kehete hai ke mera haath jaadu karta hain. Chutkio mein saari thakaan dur ho jaati hain.", he said the last line with a little excitement in a childish manner.

Mayank laughed as he realized how childish he acted. Nupur laughed with him too. Seeing Nupur laughing, Mayank gazed at her. She looked gorgeous when she laughed, he thought and smiled in a way of admiring her. During that moment, Mayank noticed something unusual in Nupur's eyes. He curiously and concernedly asked, "Nupur, tumhari aakhein aise laal kyun hain? Tumhari tabiyat theek hain naa?"

Nupur nervously made herself straight and said, "Mayank, main fresh hokar aati hoon." Saying that, she quickly went to her room not giving Mayank a single chance to question her. Mayank said to himself, "Nupur aise kyun chali gayi? Aur uski aakhein aise laal kyun dikh rahe the? I hope she's fine. I gotta find out."

Nupur rushed to the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. "I'm not looking normal. Kahin Mayank ko pata nahi chal jaaye. God! Mujhe unhe yeh sach chupaana hi padega!" Saying that, she turned on the water tap and threw some water on her face. She cleaned her face and tried her best to make her eyes normal but failed.

"Mujhe apne aakho ko aise laal ho jaane ka kuch baahaana banaana padhega.", Nupur thought. After thinking for a moment, she got an idea and went out.

Mayank was sitting on the couch and trying to call someone. But every time, the operator said that it was unreachable. He threw his phone on the couch with anger. "Damn! Yeh network itna kharaab kyun hain!", he said to himself annoyingly.

"Mayank Sharma! Calm down. Aise gussa karne se kuch nahi hoga. Tujhe Nupur ki help karni hai naa. So just relax.", he said to himself and took a deep breath.

"Ek bar aur try karta hoon. Shayad iss bar lag jaaye. Please Ganesh ji, meri help karo. Peheli bar kuch accha karne ka socha hain so plz help me.", Mayank pleaded to Almighty folding his hands. Then he took his phone and dialed someone's number.

After a moment, Mayank had the broadest smile on his face. He said in glee, "Yes! Phone lag gaya." He waited for someone until he heard a hello from the other side.

"Hello! Mayank Sharma, here! Can I talk to your head please?", Mayank said. "Yeah sure!", a man on the other line said.

After waiting for a moment, when finally Mayank heard the voice of the guy he wanted to talk to, he hugely smiled.

"Am I talking to the head of CSI?", Mayank said. "Yes! Who are you speaking?", a manly voice said. Mayank suddenly changed his tone to a happy, joyous and a friendly one and said, "Abey idiot! Mujhe nahi pehechaana kya? US mein CSI ka head kya ban gaya toh iss ka matlab apne dost ko bhul jaayega? Kya yaar Samrat! Tujhse yeh ummeed nahi thi!", he said in one go.

"Mayank, tu?", Samrat said in shock. Mayank sighed and said smilingly, "Chalo, finally, pehechaana toh sahi."

Samrat broadly smiled and said, "Kaisa hai tu? Aur life kaisa chal raha hai?" Mayank smilingly said, "Main theek hoon. Tu bataa, tera kya haal hain? CSI ki life enjoy kar raha hain?" Samrat frowned and said, "Kaha enjoy kar raha hoon yaar! Bohot bored ho chuka hoon iss life se. Pura mechanical zindagi ho gayi hain."

"Par CSI mein jaana toh tera sapna tha.", Mayank said confusedly. Samrat sighed and said, "Pata hai yaar! Par phir bhi khud ke liye waqt hi nahi milta."

Mayank smiled and said, "Toh phir India aaja kuch dino k liye. Waise bhi, tujhse kuch zaruri baat karni hain.", with the last sentence, Mayank sounded serious.

Samrat became serious too and said, "Kya baat hain Mayank? Tu kuch pareshaan mein dikh raha hain." Mayank said, "Tu bas India aaja!"

"Theek hain. Main raat ke flight se India aata hoon. Indian time ke according, kal raat ko waha pohochunga. Theek hain naa?", Samrat said. Mayank said, "Great! Main intezaar karunga. Chal theek hain, rakhta hoon. Bye!" "Bye!", Samrat said and hung down the phone.

Mayank said to himself firmly, "Nupur ke mom ko zarur insaaf milegi." Saying that, he leaned back to the couch and closed her eyes. Nupur's joyful face flashed in his mind. Mayank slowly opened his eyes and grinned. "Aaj pata nahin kyun par dil ko bohot sukun mil rahe hain. Shayad issi liye kyuki sacche maan se kisi ki help kar raha hoon." Saying that, he smiled and remembered how Nupur was smiling when he was massaging her forehead.

"Nupur ke saath bohot accha lagta hain, ek alag feel hoti hain jo aaj tak kisi ke saath nahin hui. Shayad Nupur hi woh hain, jo main apne life mein miss kar raha tha. Shayad wahi hai jo mere life mein ek sacche dost ke khaalipan ko dur kar sakti hain." Saying that, the broadest smile curved on his face.

Mayank stood up from the couch and thought confusedly, "Yeh Nupur kab se fresh hone ke liye gayi hain. Abhi tak aayi kyun nahin." "I hope she's fine!", he thought worriedly and went to her room.

Mayank opened the door of Nupur's room and was shocked to see her unconscious on the floor. Without wasting a single second, he went up to Nupur. Taking her in his lap, he shook her and called out her name several times. "Please aakhen kholo Nupur! Open your eyes!", he said worriedly and patted Nupur's cheeks continuously.

Nupur slowly opened her eyes. Her sight was blurred. She somehow touched Mayank's cheek with shivered hand and said, "M..ma..ya..a..nk!"

"Nupur, tum theek ho naa? Nupur!", Mayank said and tears started forming in his eyes slowly. Nupur heavily breathed and all of a sudden, everything blacked out in front of her eyes. She fainted. Tears flowed from Mayank's eyes. He carried Nupur outside and took her to the hospital.
