PART - XVII

Pari : Geet do i have to take part in this?

Geet : yes, i need ur help...i want to show him what Geet Handa can do

Pari: Geet ...plz think once again

Geet: u r my best friend right, then u should help me

Pari: Maan is also our friend Geet

Geet: Pari tum to aisa dar reahe ho ki mai iska murder karne vali hu...bus ise thoda sataungi...that's it, not a big deal...u just do what i say

Pari said reluctantly "ok" as she is left with no other option.

Maan forgot about Geet's surprise as he got engrossed in his work, he came home and went straight to Geet's bed room as he want to discuss something regarding the project with her. Pari is sitting in the centre of Geet's bed holding a magazine in her hand and smiling to herself. Maan entered Geet's room and has seen Pari , he is searching for Geet at the balcony, but he didn't find her there.

Maan : Pari where is Geet?

Pari said "She is at the garden" trying to control her laughter.

Maan is about to leave then Pari said "Maan she is talking with her dad, it would take atleast an hour for her to complete her non-stop chatter with her dad, y don't u take shower and have some snacks meanwhile"

Maan wondered at Pari's care for him but thought she is right in guessing about Geet, if Geet once starts chatting with her dad it would take hours to hang up the phone. So he decided to take the shower first and then meet Geet. As soon as Maan left the room Pari called Geet.

Pari : Geet he went to take the shower

Geet: ok...very good...just do the same what i have asked u to do...ok bye, he might be coming by now

Maan came to Pari very much irritated.

Maan : Pari is anything wrong with the water in ur bathroom

Pari : everything is fine...what happened?

Maan : nothing the shower, tap of the wash basin all the taps in my bathroom ...don't know what happened the water coming out of the taps is blue in colour

Pari (trying hard to control her laughter): maybe there might be a problem in the pipeline we will call the plumber and get the pipeline fixed tomorrow, u can use the water from Geet's room for now.

Maan took a bucket of water from Geet's room and finished his bath. He came out of the bathroom, dressed himself, went near the dressing table, opened the perfume bottle and sprayed the perfume on his shirt. He didn't find the fragrance of the perfume on his shirt he checked the perfume bottle once and then verified his shirt, he sprayed some liquid on his hand to find out what's wrong with the perfume. He examined the liquid with his fingers, it is very sticky and appeared like hair oil. He got frustrated looking at the bottle and threw it in the waste basket.

He changed his shirt, took the file checking for the details which he has to discuss with Geet. He sat on his bed with the file in his hand, within no time he stood up screaming "Ouch!!". He removed the blanket covering the bed to find out what is present underneath the blanket. He is shocked at what he has seen - the bed is filled with staples, safety pins, tooth picks, broken clips and all other stupid kind of stuff.

Maan : what the hell is this... all this nonsense... who has done all this, first the water in the bathroom , the perfume bottle and now this bed

then he remembered of Geet's surprise and shouted "GEEETT!!!!! "

Pari called Geet : Geet it worked...Maan is shouting, he is angry on u, he is coming for u...i don't know how u r going to manage...i am very much scared now

Geet: don't worry Pari i will handle him...he won't say anything to u, he knows that i am the culprit...chill don't worry

Pari : i know that Maan won't say anything to me...i am worried about u Geet

Geet : aahhh!!! Pari, i know how to deal with him...Pari he is coming ...bye

Maan saw Geet at the garden she is sitting on the swing and listening to songs peacefully as if she is very innocent and is not aware of the mischief that she has done to Maan. Maan came infront of Geet stopped the moving swing and removed the ear phones from her ears.

Geet(with an innocent face) : Hi honey, when did u come home, y didn't u call me... i have been waiting u for hours together

Maan: oh yeah!! U have been waiting for me to give me those 3 stupid surprises

Geet: 3 !!!!... i have planned 5...oh how did u miss the other 2 surprises honey

Maan: what 5 surprises...that means there r 2 more traps in my room!!!!

Geet stood up from the swing.

Geet: Lucky u...u have missed 2 of my surprises...u know what... 5 is my Lucky number so i have planned for 5 surprises

Maan came close to Geet and twisted her hand, placed it to her back and pulled her towards himself. She is still smiling inspite of his rude behaviour towards her.

Maan: what do u think of urself i am not saying anything to u because i don't want to hurt u but...

Geet (with a serious voice): oh really!! U doesn't want to hurt me isliye tum har din mujhe ek naya naam deke meri majak udate ho...FM RADIO, CHAMELEON, SEXY BAR DANCER...what next...all those stupid titles of urs... i told u that i hate those nick names of urs, but u never take me seriously...if there is someone else other than u in this place i would have shown him his place...i am sparing ur stupid titles because i know that u r a nice guy... from the date we came here u have been protective, caring, supportive, helpful and guiding me like a good friend ... i don't want to lose ur friendship so i am tolerating ur stupidity otherwise i would have...just leave me u IDIOT, u don't know how to behave with a girl

Her eyes became moist by now and she is struggling to free herself from his strong arms. She is looking away from Maan. Maan turned her face towards his face. He lifted her face touching her chin so that he could look into her eyes.

Maan: Geet i didn't mean to hurt u, i am just teasing u...i am not serious...doesn't i have the liberty to tease my friend

Geet : this time i am not going to fall for ur tactics Mr.Khurana

She removed his hand from her chin freed herself from his hug pushed him aside and left from the garden. Maan is shocked at same time confused unaware of how to deal with Geet now. He went to Geet's room she is not there, Pari told him that Geet is there in his room. Maan went to his room wondering what Geet is doing there.

Geet removed the blanket from his bed and replaced it with a new one. She opened his closet, took out a shirt which he usually wears during the evenings at the house and placed it in Maan's hand.

She placed a new perfume bottle on his dressing bottle

Geet : i hate ur perfume it's too strong, it is causing me head ache every day

Maan looked at Geet questioning her with his eyes indicating what he should do with that shirt.

Geet : check this shirt once one of the sleeves is missing ...i will buy a new shirt for u tomorrow

Maan unfolded the shirt and found that the shirt is having only one sleeve, he laughed looking at his shirt

Maan: Geet where is the other trap of urs?

Geet pointed towards the floor mat present at the entrance of his bathroom. Maan didn't understand what she is referring to. She went near the floor mat and lifted it ...Maan started laughing looking at the small marbles that are present below the floor mat.

Geet: u have missed this because of ur long legs, u have directly stepped into bathroom without stepping on this mat.

Maan(laughing) : Geet what's all this? Where did u get these silly ideas from?

Geet thought whatever Maan said is right being a friend he can tease her and maybe she is over reacting for his mischief so she has melted by now without any effort from Maan's side.

Geet also started laughing along with him by now at her 5 surprises. Maan is surprised to see Geet laughing, he thought it would be very difficult to convince her this time, but she is smiling at him.

Geet : sorry Maan, i think i have gone too far in teasing u...i am sorry...u called me sexy so many times which irritated me to the core so i thought of teasing u in return ...that's it nothing serious...shall we be friends again...will u forgive me

Maan: Geet this all started because of me then y r u saying sorry...i should be the one who should apologise u...sorry Geet

Geet: then u r not angry on me now

Maan : yes

Geet came near Maan "that's so sweet of u...i thought u will kill me for my mischief" saying so she raised her hands to pull his cheeks without her knowledge...she stopped in between and realised what she is going to do..."sorry Maan ..that's my ...that's my childhood habit". Maan smiled, took her hands and placed on his cheeks.

Geet smiled and said "Maan u r so sweet" pulling his cheeks. Maan got lost in Geet's innocence and started dreaming about her even though Geet is present there itself.

Geet: ok Maan gud night

He snapped out of his thoughts

Geet : oufcourse yes...u have teased me and i have teased u in return...the account has been settled...gud night

Maan: gud night...sexy

Maan is biting his tongue for calling her sexy again, he has been dreaming of her being close to him even though she is present infront of him and uttered sexy foolishly.

Maan's selfthought : Maan don't u have self control on u, what is the need to wish her back...u should have kept quite instead of calling her sexy again...god knows what happens now

Geet turned back furiously and is fuming with anger, he is stepping backwards as Geet is taking steps towards his direction. Maan got scared anticipating Geet's reaction.

Maan : Geet i didn't mean it it's just a slip of tongue...i have been calling u sexy since yesterday and it came out of my mouth without my knowledge...i am sorry...u told that we r friends, so plz forget that i have said something like this...plz back off

Geet didn't answer him and continued to move towards him, he rushed inside his bathroom, closed the bathroom door leaned on the door and took a deep breath of relief.

Geet started banging on the door at the same time shouting at him to open the door.

Geet: open the door Mr.Khurana...u coward, can't u hear me...open the door...Maan i am going to break this door if u don't open the door...common now...open the door

Maan's self thought: i am not going to open this door at any cost...oh god she is a DEMON, she will kill me for sure this time

Pari heard the shouting of Geet.

Pari : i have been thinking that how the house is so peaceful despite these two being in the same room

Pari rushed towards Maan's room and dragging her towards Geet's room "stop it Geet...u have done enough mischief...no more stupidity now". Geet released herself from Pari and went outside Maan's room. Pari and Maan felt relaxed.

Geet took a tall stool climbed on top of it so that she could reach the small window which is present at the top for ventilation in the bathroom (Maan's bathroom). She removed the glass panels and showered the dust from the waste basket inside the bathroom which directly fell on Maan's head.

Maan: oh shXX Man!! What the hell is this...Geet stop it

Geet: now the account has been settled Mr.Khurana...we can be frnz again from now onwards...gud night sweet dreams

Maan : she has to be in accounts department who took her into the team...oh no!! that's me who has selected her into the team.

Geet is contended after taking her revenge and went to bed peacefully. Maan took the shower again to get rid of the dirt thrown on him cursing himself for calling her sexy. He went near the dressing table took the perfume bottle which Geet has placed there, he opened the cap and emptied the liquid inside the bottle and kept the bottle in the shelf since she told his perfume is causing her head ache but he saved the bottle because it is given by Geet.

Maan is trying to sleep but he is unable to sleep thinking about Geet's mischief the way she behaves when she becomes angry. Surprisingly he is not angry on her for making his life hell, he enjoying her mischief because he is the one who always starts a fight between them teasing her always. His mind is filled with her thoughts he remembered what she told him at the garden, he is very much touched by her words

"if there is someone else other than u in this place i would have shown him his place...i am sparing ur stupid titles because i know that u r a nice guy... from the date we came here u have been protective, caring, supportive, helpful and guiding me like a good friend ... i don't want to lose ur friendship"

Maan's selthought: so that's what she feels for me, she is considering me as a good friend, she trusts me as her friend. So she is being herself before me, i can see the difference between the Geet whom i know before coming here and after coming here. I know that she likes me, but does she love me? will she ever love me? I can never forget the glow on her face when she hugged her father at the airport ' her eyes are filled with love for his father, she loves him a lot. Geet will u ever look at me with ur eyes filled with love for me?

He is recollecting all the incidents that took place between him and Geet, he is unable to sleep. He closed his eyes with great difficulty.
