Rani, Mehendi And The Shooting Of ‘babul’

Days before the Godhbharai ceremony Rani had been shooting for Ravi Chopra's 'Babul'. It was a shaadi scene that required her to have mehendi applied on her palms. Rani held out her hands face up and instructed a video camera to click the intricate pattern that had been drawn out for her as soon as the shoot was over. Her move surprised many till they saw her playing back the tape for the mehendiwali she had hired for the family function and instructing her to duplicate the same pattern so there would be no continuity problems when she reported back on the 'Babul' sets.
