On an international stage Saadia S Dhailey Siddhart Karnick is on cloud nine these days.We heard that his short film has won the Best Romantic Film Award at Californias Bogeda Film Festival.Yes,you are right.Au Revoir was also screened at Cannes. Its a nine-minute film, with a French title that means goodbye, Siddhart says.French director,Jean Louis Carrasco was in India to shoot an ad when he happened to discuss an idea he had with Siddharts modelfriend Reeth. We met and the project got rolling, and it was quite an adventure,at least the Chowpatty Schedule, he narrates, adding,We were to shoot at Chowpatty early morning,as Jean wanted a particular light. This day turned out to be full of trials.First, our only spotboy didnt turn up,leaving just the three of us and no one to hold the reflectors. Then there was an argument with a man,who had a problem with gore log.Just when I managed to pack him off, came a constable next.As we didnt have permission,he said we couldnt shoot.I suddenly told the cop that our director was Danny Boyle who made Slumdog Millionaire. Thanks to his story, the cop relented and gave them 15 minutes to shoot. Last seen as a vampire in Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani,Karnick is working on another film with Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval.I am playing a goofy kind of a fellow, unlike the suave and executive kind of roles I have played so far.
