"Saas-bahu roles are not practical!" Madhuri Bhatia
While the younger generation is left panting for time and space indulging in just one medium of entertainment, this lady has managed to explore not one, but three! She has been part of theatre, television as well as films, and she's also a poetess and lyricist! As if mainstream films were not enough (remember her in Subhash Ghai's Pardes?), this versatile actress has even taken on a crossover film titled My Bollywood Bride, not to mention serials including Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat and Kadam.
Madhuri has won the New York Bronze Medal for novel reading (becoming, in the process, the first woman to achieve this kind of an honour!), apart from receiving many certificates for dancing and music. "I am trained in classical dancing and I call it the western-classical modern technique. One learns to be disciplined on stage and at the same time, one learns to respect the medium. I practice the art regularly. And luckily my gurus were not the types who would preach me to go to the Himalayas but then they were true disciplinarians," says Madhuri with a conviction that comes with experience. With all this going for this lady, she must be in seventh heaven, but she isn't satisfied as yet --- she is raring to go out there and explore newer horizons! We wish her the best in her endevour!
