Mothers might rule on small screen,but even the fathers are not to be ignored any more.Over a period of time,men in television have evolved from being the headfast decision-making patriarch to playing a doting,supportive fathers role.Here are some most lovable dads on television who make you smile through the tearjerking moments.

Kiran Kumar (Avatar Sehgal,Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar

) He is one of the most grounded fathers on small screen.Kiran Kumar who essays the role believes his on-screen role is very similar to his real life role.My character in the show is of a understanding and practical father who knows what life is all about.He is not dominating and never forces his decisions on his family, says Kiran.


Ayub Khan (Jogi Thakur,Uttaran)

Strong,self-assured yet indulgent those are qualities that best defines Ayub who plays the role of Jogi Thakur,the sole decision-maker of his household in Uttaran.Ayub says,There is something very beautiful about the human capacity to love be it his own child or an adopted one,the love remains the same.Thats what makes being a father so exciting for me.How can anyone replace the feeling of utter joy and pride that fills my chest when I think of that

Mahesh Thakur (Kamal Kishore Bajpai,Sasural Genda Phool)

Cute,affectionate and adorable,Mahesh Thakur fits the perfect daddy cool category.He says,It is difficult to be a single parent.In the show,I play the role of a father who has come down to the level of their children and he tries his best to understand their needs.As I have to play the role of both,mother and father,I have to be like both and that makes my character more lovable.


Anoop Soni (Bhairon,Balika Vadhu)

Swimming against the current,Anoop is determined to give his children a better living in Balika Vadhu.Anoop says,Being a father is a privilege,not a choice.I have learnt how one has to go against traditional values to give children their rights.A fathers job is not just to provide and protect but also to encourage his child to do better in life.


Anupam Bhattacharya (Arnab Dobriyal,Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani)

Emotional as well as passionate,Arnab Dobriyal has an aura of his own.My character has a very strong personality.The emotions,love and passion that I exhibit has lifted my character from a regular fatherly image.I have kept the attitude very young so that people can connect easily with the character.The entire character has shaped up in such a way that I have gained a lot of respect from people, says Anupam.Unlike the saas and bahus who stole all the thunder on screen,televisions new age dads have also carved a special niche in peoples hearts.
