TOI: X Factor finalists to rock the stage

Hailing from diverse backgrounds and different age groups, the final 12 contestants were chosen through a nation wide hunt, which began months ago with singer/anchor Aditya Narayan.

Divided into three categories — 16 to 25 years, above 25 years and individual groups, candidates were screened for their singing talent, attitude and star quality. The first group (under 25 years old) will be groomed by Sonu Nigam. This group involves contestants like Piyush Shovon Ganguly, Seema Jha, Sahiti. The second category trained by Shreya Ghoshal will have people above 25 years of age and includes Geet Sagar, Amit Jadhav and Manjeera Gangully.

The third category's being prepared for films by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. With this, the show is all set to witness the birth of the next mega star as the top 12 contestants embark on a musical journey to win the title of being India's first X Factor winner.
