Malayalam movie Adaminte Makan Abu is making it to the headlines everyday for one or the other reason. The latest buzz about the National Award winning film is that it is being remade in Bollywood. If we are to go by the reports, actor Shahrukh Khan is playing lead role Abu in the remake to be directed by Karan Johar.

According to sources, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has shown interest in remaking Adaminte Makan Abu. It is reported that as Shahrukh Khan is one of the closest friends of Karan Johar, he would choose the King Khan for the role of Abu in the Hindi version. It is also said that Salim Ahamed, the director of the original, will work closely with the new movie too.

Adaminte Makan Abu is a thought-provoking portrayal of a man's search for a religious identity. It has won several awards at both National and State film awards. The screening of the movie was banned after producer Ashraf Bedi filed a case against director Salim Ahamed. Now, the film is said to be releasing in theaters on 17th June.
