Rucha Gujarathi, a.k.a Kalli, and Aashka Goradia, a.k.a. Kumud, may be just 22 and 18 respectively but they work almost 20 hours a day. The two new additions in Kkusum on Sony TV, as Abhay's (Anuj Saxena) two daughters, may have an onscreen clash but are the best of friends in real life.
"We report on the sets 8.30 am and the pack-up time is anywhere between 12 midnight and 2 am. That hardly leaves us with time to think," says Goradia. Ahmedabad-born Goradia didn't take up a scholarship from University of Victoria, New Zealand, in criminal psychology to pursue her dreams in tinseltown. "Rucha and I are great friends. We go out shopping and hang out when we get a break at the end of the month. But as shoppers our tastes are different," she smiles.
Gujarathi started out as a child star in films like Shikari and Dancer and also starred in Tak Dhina Dhin (DD I). "TV has an edge over films that you see and forget after three hours. A daily soap like Kkusum is on primetime everyday," she says.
While Gujarathi is a shopaholic, Goradia is into spirituality and is working towards launching her organisation, Inner Peace Foundation. "My organisation promotes a no-abortion policy and world peace. We want to build a society that is not governed by religion or caste, but peace," she concludes.
