I once wrote a post called
Spotlight/Shoutout: French People on my website The Useless Critic
Clearly, I love French people, but I spent three hours the other day talking with a French lady, and all we discussed was India.
She admitted she liked Indian music, but told me all the horrible things about India.
The thing I propose in Debate Mansion.
Who can counter her?
What are the best things to say about India?

Depends on what she said. If she said that India is the second most populous country in the world, then it can't be countered as it's a fact.

However, if all you want is to present the positives of India, whether pertinent to what she is saying or not, then that can be quite easy.

While I agree that no country is perfect, we cannot tolerate anything said against our country, no matter to which one we belong. India or otherwise.

Btw, what did she say? Without knowing that, how can we counter her theories? 😕

She said things like
"India is filthy"
"India is gross"
"The People are filthy and gross"
Things like that.

India is filthy: Cities are definitely filthy. Indian cities don't even come close to cities in developed countries when it comes to cleanliness. Small towns and rural areas are clean, though there are other issues like, lack of proper sanitation (toilets, drainage, etc.), lack of potable water.

India is gross: Depends in what context she is saying it. If it's a sweeping statement, meant to say that anything and everything about India is gross, then she can't be more wrong.
However, I acknowledge, if we see through the eyes of an outsider then India has very limited things to offer other than natural beauty.

The people are filthy and gross: Some are no doubt. There are so many homeless and utterly poor people that it'll be foolish if someone comes to India and expects to see Armani clad fashionable people everywhere. Apart from problems arising from poverty there are some other basic things which many people in India don't adhere to, like spitting gutkha for example, which arise from lack of discipline more than anything else.

Are you an Indian? If you do not know anything good about India why do you even bother to counter her ? I am least bothered about what a Frenchwoman should think about India 😃

"India of the ages is not dead nor has she spoken her last creative word; she lives and has still something to do for herself and the human peoples."

All I want to say is if your Indian be Proud!

No I am not Indian. I was just curious as to what Indians state as the cornerstones of their national pride.
I am American, and of course, there are pros and cons to any country.
Pros: Americans eat lots of meat. We like guns and we are free to complain.
Cons: Social inequality. Discrimination and overall poor social behavior. :P wah wah wah.
