I think Kesar may be getting an inkling that Thalli would be the reason for Gulaal to distance herself from him
The reason for my guess,
In Kesar's POV
1. Always Gulaal takes the name of Thalli infront of Kesar wherever he wanted Gulaal and not Thalli (when he says Gulaal to clean his room, the chunar scene,...)
2. He may think that for Thalli roaming around him all the time Gulaal might learn the growing intrests of Thalli towards him and that's why Gulaal is behaving so and may be thinking Thalli to be the one who is responsible for the growing spaces btw Gulsar.
All I've discussed here is on Kesar's POV as he is unaware of Gulaal's match-making unlike we viewers.
