" I tried to rest that night,but sleep eluded me...

A pair of pleading eyes and a sweet lil' innocent face haunted me

throughout the night...

don't know,when I fell into a fretful sleep...

The buzzing of my cell, woke me up..I got up feeling more tired

and very groggy..

"Hello???"

"Ji,Main bol rahi hoon, Naintara !!"

"Oh please, Naintara ji..I told you yesterday itself that I won't be

able to help you..We don't have any solid evidence to prove your

husband's innocence...Why don't you just accept the truth and

give up??"

"Sir, every thing, every evidence went against Srikkanth sir too,

but you never gave up..You had at most faith in him and fought for

him...and now you are asking me to give up on my husband??? I

won't sir!!"

"There is something I don't understand ma'am.."

"Call me Tara please.."

"Yeah Tara, don't you think,you are contradicting yourself???

pehle aapne bina soche ,samjhe mera muh tod diya..but after that

you started begging and pleading for my help..I'm sorry but I fail to

understand you !!"

"ss..ssir...let me apologize for my ..ummm...aggressive

behavior..", she said in a meek voice.."Sir, I know that,even though

you both were in a team, you were not that close with my

husband..But he always held you in high regard. Even though

Srikkanth was the smartest and the best in the group,he used to

tell me that you were more humane...after listening to so many

nice things about you ,from him..I was in for a rude shock,when ,in

the court,you went against him and proved him a traitor...I don't

know ,what came over me..the pain,the frustration,the worry about

my lil' one's bleak future...the fear that he'd be treated as an

outcast..as a traitor's son...oh God..I just lost it then..When I saw

you ,all happy and smiling, while I was burning in hell, I flew into a

massive fit of rage..I'm sorry again.."

"It's okay,..let's put this behind us...but Tara,you still didn't

answer my question...after hating me so much,why did you ask for

my help??"

"I was coming to that sir..once I calmed down,I thought about the

dedication and sincerity with which you fought for your friend. You

were convinced of his innocence, so you went out of your way to

clear his name...That gave me hope!! I don't have anyone else to

turn to..my husband had always kept me away from his work..so I

don't know anybody here...you are my only hope sir!! "

"Tara,I'd really like to help..but.."

"I know, why you are hesitating.. you are still not convinced about

his innocence,Haina?? can you please meet me at this cafe?? at

least once?? after that if you are still not convinced, I promise not

to trouble you again..."

"Theek hai !! When do you want to meet??"

The sweet,demure lady sitting before me was a far cry from the

feisty woman I had encountered yesterday!!

She had come alone leaving her child in the care of her old

parents.

"Sir, you doubt my husband because of all the money you found in

our house,haina??"

"Tara..."

"Please sir, hear me out..these are our bank statements..please

go through them..we have nothing sir..he had not saved anything

for our son..he was an honest man..trust me please..."

She kept blabbering random words, sobbing bitterly..

"Tara...Tara please.."

I leaned over and shook her shoulders...she stopped crying but

was still hiccuping...I gave her water...she took a sip and leaned

back..

"Tara,listen to me..you don't have to show me your bank

statements and all..see...I'd really like to help you...but where do

we start??? you think,we can convince others with these bank

statements?? Nahi na?? There will be million counter arguments!!

we need solid proof!!"

"Sir, there are couple of documents in our bank locker..I don't

know whether those can be of any help..par aap chahe toh, I can

show them to you!!"

She was desperate and clinging to the last straw.. .She had

nothing to prove her point...no solid evidence!! Just bluffing to

make me agree to help her...I could see that but didn't have the

heart to say a point blank "No"...So,for her mental satisfaction,I

agreed to take a look at those documents!! I was sure about the

outcome,and was relieved too..after all this whole tamasha will

come to an end today itself!!

"Sir,from here I'm going directly to the bank to get those

documents!! Can you meet me at my house???..I mean,not my

parent's place...the house where I used to live before. "

"Yeah sure, I'll be there at 7!"

"Okay sir,please come alone.."

"Kyun?? Why can't I bring Sri along??"

"Aisi koi baat nahi hai sir, He doesn't seem to like me..so,I don't

think I'll be comfortable in his presence."

"Ok...as you wish!!"

It was already dark,by the time I reached the house.

The house was plunged in darkness and looked deserted!!

I stood outside contemplating whether or not to go in..

Maybe,she has not reached yet..Standing outside like that was

going to gain unnecessary attention from the neighbors..So I

decided to go in..The door was locked,so I tried the windows.To

my luck,the kitchen window budged !! I squeezed myself inside..I

paused,letting my eyes adjust to the dark interiors. I walked into

the next room, which I guessed was the dining room,seeing the

outline of the furniture. I slipped on something sticky and wet and

fell flat on my stomach! My hand hit something soft and slightly

warm !! I sat up to inspect it! In the headlights of a passing car...

I saw the gruesome ,twisted dead body of Naintara Rathod!!

chaddo jee..coming back to the update, Oh man! i was on the edge of my seat while i was reading n my mom was wondering y am i not sitting comfortably n she asked me da same n i said "mamma aap bhi na! aapko nahi pata when u read such stories, u shud sit at the edge" n my mom rolled her eyes saying it is just a saying!!😆
