U leave me so shocked after each update...maan has so much for Sri then what went wrong????

guess wat ur story is beautiful...right from the beginning..may be bcoz of da country names issue u may have disappointed but seriously it wasn't ur fault. As a matter of fact, when it comes to country's pride, any govt. will easily choose it above any person even though the person is a soldier.

things like these have happened. We can't blame anyone.. Am glad you bought up such a challenging and sensitive topic but well even the readers cant be blamed as we can never see our country's name against something even if it is a mere story..so my conclusion is that don't be upset tanya.. you seriously need some optimism classes... tell me when u r free... me and reva will give u training..she'll bash me and i will show u how to smile shamlessly🤣

Maan's story

(part - 3)

"She slapped me hard across my face,almost breaking my nose!!

I could taste blood in my mouth..wincing in pain ,I looked at

her..She raised her hand to strike me again,her face contorted

with rage and hatred!!

I caught her wrist before she could hit me .She hissed

angrily as she used her other hand to pry my grip off her .

"What's wrong with you woman?? Who the hell are you??"

Sri yelled at her,pushing her away from me..

She cried out in pain as her head hit the wall behind..

The child screamed and ran towards his mother..He hugged her

knees with his tiny hands and kissed her trying to calm her down.

Leaning against the wall,she wept bitterly, hugging the little boy

tightly to herself.

I stood transfixed,breathless,my pain completely forgotten!!

Was I the cause of all that suffering,anguish and misery??

The child looked at me ,his face bedewed with tears..The hostility

in those big brown eyes made me flinch.

"Maan, do you know her??"

I shook my head in the negative..

"Shaayad paagal hogi... tum bas chalo.."

He put his arm around my shoulder and steered me away from

them.

"zara rukiye, Mr. Maan Singh Khurana...Itna bada officer hokar,ek

besahaara aurat se darkar bhaag rahe ho??" ,She called out in a

mocking voice.

Sri gritted his teeth and turned around,ready to lash out at her..

I held him back. I thought I should deal with her directly..I needed

to find out,the reason behind her weird behavior..I walked up to

her and said "I feel sorry for you ma'am, whoever you are... but

seriously... don't you think that we've never ever met before...if

that's the case,then..isn't it weird,unleashing your anger and

frustration at a stranger like this?? log aapko paagal kahenge..."

She stood breathing heavily,her features hard and her jaw

clenched tight. Her vicious stare never left my face. After a

moment,that seemed to last for hours,she finally broke the

silence..."Paagal main nahin...aap log ho.. jo ek nidarr aur

sachche desh bhakt ko gaddaar bana diya...He was called a

traitor...a traitor...",her voice trembled as fresh tears flooded down

her cheeks...

"Oh my God!! She's the widow of Major Rathod." , my heart

started beating wildly in my chest...her words and actions slowly

started making sense...

"Oh, so,, she thinks,her husband got convicted because of

me..maybe she doesn't know his real self."

Feeling sorry for her, I decided to clear the air.

"Dekhiye ma'am, I can understand what you are going through...

but I didn't do anything wrong..I was just doing my duty..All the

evidence I submitted today were collected from your house...So

why blame me, when it was your husband who decided to tread

the wrong path??"

"What if I say that all those were planted???...after his demise,we

left that house..taking advantage of that,anybody could have

planted it there..."

"Please ma'am, don't be ridiculous!! I do understand your love and

loyalty for your deceased husband.. But don't you think that

your suspicions are a bit far-fetched??"

She didn't reply,but kept staring at me with sad,soulful eyes..

"You've worked with him,haina?? Don't you know him at all?? He

was passionate about his job and was a die-hard patriot. Main

jaanthi hoon unhe aur mujhe yakeen hai...He'd have rather died

a million deaths,defending his country than lived his life as a

traitor!!"...

I don't know why... but her fierce loyalty and her confidence

seemed to make an impact on me..I found myself patiently

listening to her,completely forgetting the fact that this was the

same woman who had slapped the living day lights out of

me, just a few minutes ago!!

"Ma'am dekhiye, aap samjhne ki koshish kijiye..I just wanted to

clear my innocent friend's name..That's why I went ahead with the

investigation..we got a lead about your husband and the rest you

know...iss mein meri koi galti nahin hai !!"

Maybe my genuine arguments convinced her...she wiped her tears

and took a deep breath.."Shaayad aap apni jagah sahi hai..."

I nodded with a sigh..I was indeed happy and relieved to hear that.

" Par sir...Will you help me?? Will you help me clear his name??"

The question, coming out of the blue, caught me unawares...

I looked at her dumbfounded!!!

"Ji main...main kya kar saktha hoon??? The court has given it's

verdict and ...it's the end !!"

"No,it's not!! I'm going to appeal against the ruling..I'm going to

ask for a re-probe...but will you help me??"

"No,he won't !!", Sri stated coldly. "If you have faith,, go

ahead!!..but stop pestering my friend...we don't have faltu time to

indulge in your insanity!!"

Sri pulled my hand.."Maan ..bas chalo..in sab main mat

pado..tumhara naam bhi kharab ho jaayega !!!"

I took a long look at the wretched woman and the child...sighing, I

turned to walk away..

"Sir, aapne mere sawaal ka jawab nahi diya..I'm Naintara Rathod

and this is my address...main aapse akele mein milna chahti

hoon!!"

Giving her one last look,I walked away!!
