How different are socialism vs communism? Aren't both the system based of public ownership! Do you prefer to be a liberal vs conservative?

To me they are both ideological doctrines and have more similarities vs differences!

Capitalism is on one end of the spectrum, communism is on the other. Socialism falls somewhere in between the middle and communism.

Communism is based on public (government) ownership. Socialism is based on collective (social) ownership.

Uber liberal.

There are plenty of similarities, but the differences are fundamental. Communism cannot coexist with market economy, but socialism can.

True that capitalism has been proven to be the only successful system: because it causes war, hypocrisy and competition!

***

Traditional Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

American Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when the cow drops dead.

French Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.

Japanese Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce
twenty times the milk.
You then create cow cartoon images called Cowkimon and market them World-Wide.

German Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You reengineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and milk
themselves.

Italian Capitalism:
You have two cows, but you don't know where they are.
You break for lunch.

British Capitalism:
You have two cows.
Both are mad.

Russian Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You count them and learn you have five cows.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
You count them again and learn you have 12 cows.
You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.

Indian Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You worship them.

Chinese Capitalism:
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment, high bovine productivity, and arrest the newsman who
reported the numbers.

Is this your thesis Paper then?
http://wikiality.wikia.com/The_People%27s_Republic_of_Madison

PS: Whoever thought of Sodom on the Lake. I love the name.

To address your points/questions

1. Yes, socialism is more close to communism. It is left of center.

2. Socialism actually is not against private ownership. Private enterprise can still exist under socialism. Capitalism tends to discredit labor and communism tends to discredit capital. Socialism tries to balance the two. There is more emphasis on collective enterprise like cooperative farming, employee owned businesses. However, socialism does tend to lean unfairly in favor of labor. I personally prefer socialism that is more towards the center than far left of center.

3. As a teenager I was very conservative and staunchly capitalistic. As I grew up I discovered several serious flaws and unfair practices in capitalism. I feel ethically and morally better about my own consciousness being more liberal (socially and fiscally). Thats not to say other world views don't have their merit.

4. China's problem is authoritarian government, people have no say. India's problem is corruption. USA's problem is corporations lacking governance (USA is mostly capitalistic with some social welfare programs). European nations like France, Germany, the Nordic nations and Canada are examples of functional socialism balanced with market economies.

Now, what are the poor people going to do? ...paradise, rivers are not of water but of wine...again... The poor people have never tasted wine...they will die of thirst cos water is not available at all...and politicians are afraid...thy want the world to remain divided into poor and rich...the gurus/priests and other holy ppl want the world to be divided into classes...thy are the powerful people...I strongly feel that power should be in the hands of the best ...only then we can hope something good can come out of it.😊

Just how do you decide which is the best? One man's best can be other man's worst.

land for housing would come under "useful thing", so would land for agriculture. Land is limited and can be awarded to only one party. Here starts the conflict.
