Its a fiction , a figment of imagination even established writers use name of different countries ; in any case since they've voiced their unhappiness it would be better if you keep the name of country anonymous .

Excellent part Tonya.
Interesting so maan n Dev r IPS trainer...best buddies during their old days.
Really feeling sad for Kartik's death.
But wat went wrong btwn 'em.
Why does Dev accuse maan as an terrorist.
Was it Dev whom leak their secret place.
But he saved Maan's life...Mayb cos maan is his fren.
😆 Me keep thinking of possible reasons...
Keep writing... am vry eager to read...

Maan's story

"I urged my department to probe further into the attack in Moscow..

After many months of interrogation and to an extent...even

bribing..we were able to find a lead...

One of my fellow agents had betrayed us...he had leaked

confidential information to the other party thus resulting in the

ambush!! He had betrayed his homeland and was the sole reason

for the brutal murder of his fellow countrymen!! Since Sri and I

were the only ones who escaped, we were put under the

scanner...by the end of the procedures,I was left free.. Sri had not

co-operated fully..he refused to answer many questions that hurt

him as a patriot..his attitude went against him and he was

convicted !! I was heart-broken..I couldn't sit back and watch Sri

going to meet the same fate as Karthik...I stood by him and fought

for him...I gave my testimony before the panel describing how he

had saved me...If he was one among them,why would he do

that?? He would only want to eliminate all witnesses...The panel

was not fully satisfied,but they gave Sri the benefit of doubt,

considering his meritorious service and ordered further probe into

the matter..

I could feel Sri slowly warming up to me after the trial..he started

hanging out with me more and that did give me hope..I knew, if I

tried harder,I'd get my best friend back!!

The probe was going no where and I could sense him slowly

starting to get restless..That was when I decided to take matters in

my own hands. I went ahead and requested my superiors to

involve me in the investigation..I requested my dad also to put

pressure on the defense ministry regarding the same...which he

did for me...but since I was a witness, they rejected the proposal..

But to our luck, the chief investigating officer, Sunil Patel was a

family friend of mine and had received favors from my dad. On

dad's insistence he agreed to help me!! Officially I was not

involved in the case,but along with him I started investigating!!!

A week after I started my investigation,I received a text message

from an unknown number.. The person addressed himself as my

well wisher and requested to let him help me in the case. He also

instructed to wait for his next message..I called up my friends in

the communication department and asked for help in tracing the

number..they drew a blank...the number was private and

untraceable!! I left it at that till I received the next message..It

contained an address and a request to check the place

thoroughly!! The address looked familiar,but I couldn't place it, so I

called up Sunil and together,we decided to pay an

unofficial visit to the place.. On reaching there, Sunil said he knew

the place..it was the home of Major Rathod,one of my fellow

agents who had died in the ambush!!!

We all were busy investigating the living,conveniently forgetting

the dead..It never occurred to us that the mole could have died in

the ambush !!

The house was empty..we broke into it and did a thorough

search..We literally tore the place apart...Nothing caught our

eye..How could that be??

Was all this a farce??? Was somebody taking us for a ride???

But something urged me to go on...The wood paneling in the

basement caught my attention...It looked freshly painted..Using

my swiss knife,I tore it open...There were bundles of foreign

currency hidden inside the hollow panels..We combed the place

and came up with cell phones and Russian SIM cards. There were

copies of important documents,which were highly confidential..We

couldn't believe our luck..I silently thanked my well wisher and

walked out!! It was time for action!! It was time to let my Sri off the

hook!!!

On the basis of the evidence submitted, Major V.K.Rathod was

found guilty of treason..Since he was already dead,the court

ordered RAW to strip off his rank,his medals and all the honors he

had received from the government of India..

We won the case..My happiness new no bounds..I thanked Sunil

and hugged him to show my appreciation...While we were shaking

hands,congratulating each other, Sri came running to me..He

pulled me into a tight hug.."Thanks bro for everything..I knew I

could count on you..Thanks for giving back my life..."

He called me bro..was it that magical word or my unbound

happiness that brought tears in my eyes?? I don't know..Sri's eyes

were also brimming with tears..but he started teasing me,calling

me a cry baby and all..he was just trying to lighten up the mood

and I played along..showing fake anger and punching him playfully

in the stomach!!

My moment of euphoria was short lived as I came face to face with

her!!She was young,maybe in her twenties ..a little boy stood right

next to her hugging her legs. She stood there staring at me with

utmost contempt..an inferno raging in her eyes!!! Suddenly,she

walked up to me...as I stood there totally confused and wondering

what I had done to evoke such hatred from her...

she raised her hand and slapped me!!
