How do you see the killing of Osama? Is Global Terrorism now dead?

The Taliban/Al Queda/JI etc and all other groups has a reputation of terrorism and merciless killings.
It has been an embarrassment for Pakistan, but the Pakistani forces helped eradicate Osama too.
Way I see it the time taken to kill him has been too long.
Possible the enemies of Osama gave him away, if not, it could never happen.

Global terrorism will take more time to eradicate.
To some extent some of the so called "terrorists" are actually "freedom fighters".
But in some cases the word "jihad" has been misinterpreted and misapplied.
I think war and religion should not be mixed but then I guess it is unavoidable. It is okay to fight for your country but not go into other countries to fight, would be the general rule.
But some terrorists are the Hit and Run types and need to be hunted down.

No. It's just one step forward, in the right direction. Obviously, we have to get his disciples as well, and many other of his kind.
It's going to be a long war. But a war worth it.

Osama was found in a custom built hideout just half a kilometer away from the Pakistan military academy! The cantonment area is a heavily guarded area where no person can enter or build any structure without the permission of the military high command. Yet Osama , the world's most wanted terrorist was found holed up there with 2 of his wives, 7 children , bodyguards and others.
As long as there are people who support and give refuge to such terrorists how can terrorism be eradicated 😕

Right now some Mr.Hilali (some former Pak ambassador to USA) is saying that it's a lapse on the part of Pak Intelligence agency that they failed to notice that bin Laden lived there. But he is still stressing on the fact that Pak had no role in bin Laden hiding over there. It's amazing how much stupid these politicians and bureaucrats think the general public are.

But no, seriously, I doubt there's a global terrorists association (GTA, right now fighting a lawsuit against rockstar games) that's gonna come out and hold press conferences and say: "Oh dear, this puts a damper on our organisations momentum, it's really bad for business. Osama was a dear friend to all within the organisation, contributing greatly to our operations. We're gonna start killing less people now, but rest assured, we will be back some day. HAIL HITLER!" *eats leg of mutton and waves sword around*

I'm not saying that they won't notice it, but I don;'t think it's gonna be too big a deal for them. I doubt the 10 year delay in killing osama will strike fear in their hearts.

I highly doubt it. Who are Osama's enemies? fellow jihadists? i don't think so. his only enemies are us, who wants him and terrorism dead. The US forces have tracked down osama. and they made damn sure they found him. there is no taking away from what the forces did. I salute the brave men. although this may be a huge blow, i doubt it will eradicate global terrorism just yet. i actually am fearing retaliation at this point. these are maniacs we are dealing with. not normal people. may God be with our troops!

i agree. the fact that there was a military academy there less than a kilometer from this mansion of osama's is highly suspicious. either they are really stupid or they think general public are idiots to believe anything.

I just feel for the residents of that town. god! what a night it must've been for them. scary! hope they are alright!

Its not only about striking fear. He could have been caught long ago had they paid heed to India crying hoarse about Pakistan's role. What about the other Jihadis still taking refuge there? Will the US forces do something about them or will they be satisfy their ego just with Osama's killing?
