Chapter 15:
"Geet...Geet hold on. I'm going to call the doctor, you'll be fine. Let me just go call someone" Maan pleaded with his wife, worry and panic clearly visible.
And she burst out laughing, quickly letting go of his hand and sitting upright on the bed. She turned to her husband, whose jaw was dropped and he appeared utterly shell shocked. "So how does it feel to be fooled Mr. Khurana? Not pleasant right?"
"But...Geet...the baby! Your stomach! You were in pain!" he called out, shocked and still worried for his wife and her baby.
"Maan. I was kidding. Calm down. You know, playing a prank on you? Ever heard of that?" Geet smiled sweetly, pretending as if nothing had happened at all.
Unfortunately, Maan did not see it that way, because the next second, she felt a resounding slap across her cheek, and looked up to see fury raging in those eyes.
"A TRICK?! This is the kind of cheap trick you play on people? Up to this point, I dealt with you, no matter how immature your little pranks and tricks were. But this crosses all limits, Geet. Do you not have a heart, pretending that you and the baby are in danger?"
"I...I'm sorry Maan. It was just meant to be a joke, I really didn't mean to hurt you" she pleaded, tears welling in her eyes, but he raised one hand, telling her to stop.
"I'm not falling for any of your tricks Geet. That was the most despicable thing I have ever possibly seen. And these fake tears aren't going to work. Ugh, why am I still talking to you anyways?" Throwing her one last glance, he turned around and left the hotel room, slamming the door shut behind him, and leaving his few days old wife alone in the middle of the room, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
She shuddered as she thought of Maan's anger. He had actually slapped her!
How dare he?!
But then again, how could she have been that stupid? She knew better than this for sure. But being around that man, ugh, she didn't know what happened to her every time she was in his presence. Logical thought, reasoning, good judgment, they were all in the toilet!
Wiping away her tears, slowly pushed away the covers and got out of bed, she had been the one to make a mistake this time, a much more serious one than usual, so she would be the one to correct this mistake.
She would have to apologize, and make sure he accepted her apology.

Maan sat in the restaurant of the hotel, drinking his coffee and munching down on the toast that was placed in front of him,
He shook his head as he thought of the trick his wife played on him. Was she ever going to grow up? Who even does something like that? What if something had actually happened to the baby, to her?
She had got him so worried, so worked up!
But wow Maan, you worried about her! You were worried for her as well, not only the baby, a tiny voice in his head kept on saying.
NO! Of course not! The baby is all that matters to me!
But if something happens to the Geet, then the baby will be hurt as well, remember that you idiot? Geet has to be fit and fine not only physically but emotionally as well.
Maan rubbed his temples from exasperation. Shit! He had left Geet crying the room! That would fall under emotional distress category. OMG! What if the baby like was born depressed?!
Without a single logical thought running through his head, Maan raced back upstairs to the honeymoon suite, stopping only because he couldn't open the door. Fumbling around with the key produced no results, and thus, in sheer frustration, he started banging on the door.
"Geet! Geet are you ok?! I'm not mad at you anymore, I promise! Just open the door! Don't do anything to yourself! GEET!"
Inside the room, Geet paused.
And her eyebrow quirked up.
Was the dude ok out there?
Nonetheless, she went to the door, and opened it, only to have Maan pull her into his arms and hug her.
"Oh thank god, you're ok! You didn't do anything stupid! I'm sorry I slapped you Geet, I really am very sorry!" he hugged her tightly, but Geet just stood there stiffly, bewildered at this sudden show in emotion.
"Maan, calm down. I'm right here, and alive and kicking. Why would anything happen to me?"
She lead him inside slowly, not taking her eyes off of him.He seemed to be in a somewhat disillusioned state.
And Maan began the explanation.
"You know Geet, you're pregnant and all, and I shouldn't have gotten mad at you. What if something happens to you?! Or the BABY?! I mean, whatever happens to the mother affects the baby. Both physically and emotionally. So like if you were depressed because I hit you, because you were crying, the baby might come out all depressed, ya know?"
Geet had to clasp her hands over her mouth to stop herself from bursting out in laughter. The poor man was so worried, like he genuinely believed that the baby would be depressed. Calming herself down, she placed a hand on his arm, "Maan, my dear worried husband, calm down. The baby is fine, and I'm far from depressed. In fact, I was actually going to come outside to find you."
She sat him down on the bed and sat herself next to him, taking his hands into her own.
