Hey guys...I won't be updating for a while now...I am going thru some personal problems and I just don't feel like updating until everything is resolved..idk when but am sorry...I will TRY to update in between when I can but no promises...

Chapter 40
Geet was sitting in her room getting ready for mehendi ceremony to begin...she puts her bangles...she shakes her hand to make a jingling noise...she adores her eyes with kajal...Geet puts payals on her feet...Meera comes from behind and puts gajara on her hair...while Pinky fixes her dupatta...she looks at Geet through the mirror...both smile at each other...Geet stands up and puts Meera on the seat...
Meera: Geet what are you doing?
Geet: This is also your mehendi ceremony as well
Meera (confused): What do you mean?
Geet: Listen we are like sisters now right..I want my sister to go through all the proper functions that she missed (Meera has tears in her eyes) Don't cry now...I have talked with Arjun already...he has your outfit picked out
Pinky: Geet bhabhi is right...proper functions to banta hai
Geet: Pinky don't worry your time will come also with Adi (Pinky blushes and runs out of the room while Meera and Geet laugh at her)
Arjun (comes in then): Anyone thinking of me?
Geet: Did you get Meera's dress?
Arjun: Yeah...let me tell you Maan bhai and Vicky bhai will go crazy looking at you guys
Geet (becomes sad): Come on Arjun give Meera the dress...(Meera takes the dress and goes inside the bathroom to change) Arjun did you talk to Maan?
Arjun: No I couldn't get hold of his cell (Geet is sad hearing this..Arjun puts his hand on her shoulder) Don't worry Geet am sure he will make it on time...he knows the function is today
Geet: I know...anyway you go and see all the function arrangements...we both will be down shortly...(Arjun leaves...Geet sits on the bed)
Geet pov:
Maan where are you? It has been a week since you left and not once you called...(she looks at her hand and tear forms in her eyes) you promised that you would be the first one to put mehendi on my hands..I won't get mehendi done until you come...please come back soon today...I miss you..you promised to be with me all time...today is very special for the both of us...please come soon...(Meera comes out of the bathroom getting ready...Geet quickly wipes her tears and goes near Meera)
Geet: Wow Vicky will go crazy after seeing you tonight (Geet puts finishing touches on Meera)
Meera (looks down): Does he know about this?
Geet: No he doesn't...that is the fun part (both laughs)
Pinky (comes back up): The ceremony is about to start...
Geet: Ok we are coming...(All three went down the stairs...Geet looked down the stairs hoping to find Maan standing there...Vicky looks at Meera and almost drops his glass...Meera notices and looks down...blushing profusely...Vicky extends his hand for Meera as they come to the bottom of the stairs...Geet looks at the entrance searching for Maan...Dadima brings Geet and Meera down to the center of the room where all the women were sitting...one of the women started applying mehendi on Meera...Geet stands up walking little bit ahead looking at the entrance...Arjun knew why she was upset...he decided to lighten up the mood...
Arjun: Guys lets enjoy...after all Maan Singh Khurana is getting married soon...(everyone applause...the lights go off...the music starts)

Vicky pretends to get something from behind Meera...and brushes his hand on her back..Meera moves a little...Dadima saw this and tells Vicky to leave...

Barson ki pyaas bujhaa de
Meera holds her laughter as Vicky stands away from the place looking at Geet dancing...

Manmeet ke, mujhe preet ke sapnon ko sajaana hai
Geet remembers all the moments spent with Maan...

Vicky tries to come close to the place again but Dadima stands in front of him...he surrenders and moves away

Geet looks at the entrance again...hoping for Maan to come back...she feared if he left her as well just like her dad...she controls her tears as she moves with the music...

Maan comes to the function wearing his sherwani...Geet sees him and smiles with tears in her eyes...Dadima and everyone gets happy...she comes near Maan and starts dancing around him...

She holds out her hand...Maan gets the mehendi tube and writes his name on her both hands...They both look at each other..."I promised that I will be here on time didn't I?" (he whispers...she looks down...she moves her feet a little..making chan chan noise...Maan looks down...)

He moves her hair that was on her face to the back of her ears...

Geet and Maan both look at each other...making silent promises with each other for lifetime..they both smile...

Adi pulls Pinky to dance in the middle of the dance floor...Vicky pulls Dadima...everyone starts joining both and dance away...

Maan: Geet please listen to me...I said I was sorry (the function was over...Maan was walking behind Geet...as she walks fast ahead of him in the outhouse)
Geet: No!
Maan: I will explain
Geet: explain what! You left for a week without telling anyone anything...
Maan: I know but
Geet: But what...what was so important that you had to leave so suddenly
Maan (runs in front of Geet and stops her...he holds her shoulder): You will find out tonight at dinner...
Geet: I don't want to find out anything...I have to go (she tires walking away from him..Maan holds her hand)
Maan: Please...you will get your answers at dinner...
Geet (looks at him): Ok...(she punches him on his stomach) Don't EVER do that again!
Maan (goes down on his knee..holding his breath): ok (he said weakly...) You know for a girl you know how to punch...
Geet: Thank you...now I have to go and get ready for dinner...I will wait for your explanation...
Maan: ok see you in few minutes...
