The women, under the leadership, of the crafty Manjula have all decided to make Vrinda's life miserable. Vrinda apologizes to them, that things happened so quickly, she had to yield to Ashta's demand, and she and Mohan had to marry. This does not convince Manjula and the other ladies, who still believe that Vrinda has captured Ashta with black magic, which was a common tool, in Manjula's hand in the past, so she thinks others too are capable of doing so. But Vrinda's behavior is quite in contrast to the show which the women exhibit, one of below average intelligence, filled with empty belligerence, and loud words. Vrinda is quiet and does what she should do, and Ashta always supports her rather than the other aunts, and this galls them a lot.

The whole show is a display, of how the five can stoop low, in the wrong belief, that they are doing all this for the sake of Ashta, while she, under developed as she is, shows better judgment and sides her new Mother. Even Mohan is on her side, and tells her to be Ashta's mother, and he will not impose on her his rights of being her husband. She does not say anything.

Manjula influences other other devranis, to collaborate with her to oust Vrinda. Ashta insists that she wants her Vrinda Ma, and that infuriates the devranis, as she is again having another stubborn streak they have to over come.

In the night, Manjula can not sleep with Ashta, and she is sullen, and sleeping on her bed, and her husband notices and questions her. But when they hear Ashta calling them, they rush like immature teenagers, to her room, and fawn on her, but when they hear what she has to say, their faces fall.

One of their aunts comes from Canada, and she has something up her sleeve, which makes the devranis afraid, what it could be.as one has found a stamp paper of a Will, with their mother in law's signature.

Vrinda is made to have the kitchen to cook the food all by herself, but when she has switched off the stove, and gone to help Ashta, Parul comes and puts the gas switch on, and Jalpa puts oil on the floor so that Vrinda would slip, and all sorts of tricks they do at the instigation of Manjula, who is very proud of what she has achieved.

The devranis implicate Vrinda, when she comes to the kitchen, that she had left the gas switch on, and in spite of her denying and even pleading and apologizing, they all gang up on her.

The serial would have been more appreciated, if there were more positive characters than negative ones. Among 7 women, we have 2 positive vs 5 negative, and this is not a good representative ratio for the women of Gujerat. Any one who knows them will tell you that.
