entertainment kay liye kuch bhi kare ga!

Friends ,of recent my mind has been thinking about the term entertainment.To me it means an action of providing or being provided with an amusement or enjoyment ,that which diverts,holds my attention and permits me fun in my lesiure time.Goes without saying here,that entertaiment can be passive like watching a movie or telly,or it can be active like sports and games,

With broadly this in mind,when I of the think about the "Fun,creatvity&entertainment " market,within the realms of the medium specificaly of television,there is the obvoius current diverse range of reality,cookery,comedy,thriller,horror ,and the most popular the sitcoms or daily soaps,entertaining veiwers on a daily basis.

The issue I wish to raise,is the great lengths channels,particularly in the case of serials are willing to scale to achieve dramatic effect.In the name of drama you get to grapple with twist,turns,diversions,detours, killing leads and bringing them alive again, time leaps,

vampire metamorphisim, pregnancies,abortions, baby swapping ..and the list is endless..and all this in the name of creating good old flavour of some dramatic effect.

Friends using one,or a smattering of the above mentioned elements appear to be unavoidbly

woven in the story plots of current tv serials.The channels will of course argue that this ploy is used in tracks to break the monotony in a given story and thus giving way to more variety

and respite from boredom to the veiwer, but what they are really saying is that it gives the serials a selling point and trp gaining postioning. But as veiwers of these serials the question we pose to the CVs is that where does that leave us in our entertainment of having to watch forever chopping and changing tracks?? If we stop watching your serials what good will that do to your trps??

Still friends, as a veiwer I can handle all the dramatic effects that channels attempt, but I refuse to accept the use of disability and illness which is being used in current plots to create some strange,undefined form of morbid effect from me as the veiwer ,for certain. To me there appears to be an ignorant disregard ,on the part of channels, towards those veiwers who may be dealing with the portrayed illness or disability in real life,which they are using to create drama!

To substantiate my objection, I cite the example of SP serial SGP where the female lead is suffering from Carcinoma. The message being given by the serial is quite clear, that there is an impending doom for the female lead. Now in my opinion, although not being of the medical profession,but have dealt with cancer within the family, I can say that what is portrayed in the serial is not true. For many forms of Cancer are treatable and victims do survive,provided they are monitored regularly.Pus, not all cancers are terminal,survival depends on the type of cancer and at what stage it is identified.So by giving this misinformation to veiwers that it is the end of the line for the character is grossly incorrect,and again shows insensitivity towards veiwers who may be dealing with this illness in thier own lives.

To continue on the topic of illness/disability,you have the mentally challenged adolescent boy in RSBP; then you had the male lead in tere liya suffering some undefined form of mental disorder; you then have the female lead in BAVD,imagine, who suffers from the genatic disorder of dwarfisim, luckily I will not scathe this serial ,but instead admire it for the in role lead actually suffers from this disorder.

Colors in particular is very much taken in by this theme of illness/disabiity/health issues, to create dramatic ripples. The latest one though of male infertility in U, is very obviously put in to up the trps.. making it bigger than it really is,for medically, for a man to be impotent is quite common place and has varied causes and is certainly treatable..but nooo we are not shown that in the serial ,instead colours ,may be taking us into the silly realm of stigma attached to it just to keep the track running.

Another favourite disabillity with colors is their fetish with blindness.You have a certain sister in U who is feigning blindness to create suspense in the show.. how lame and flippant

can they get.

However in the case of Dutta's blindness colors were on the ball! thank heaven's for that, the track can be sold to audiences for medically, following a car crash, vision impairement partial or complete can occur. The medical effects of partial sight like, patient being able to see hazy shapes;patient bumping into furiture once it is moved; staring for longer than normal at objects as if to focus; having discharge from eyes,causing squinting , and keeping eyes closed to avoid bright lights... all of which was memorably portrayed by Mishal Raheja, hence making it fictionally and factually credilble.

Finally I come to the illness Colors is at present showing that is plaguing the female lead of LTL.I would like some answers towards her medical condition from Colors.

It would be perhaps appropriate to look at the 28th March 2011 ,especially the final part.It appears the lead was running,I recall that she fell on the road, the question is did she bang her head? say she did for argument sake. In that case she may have suffered a concussion,mild or severe is not know. In any case medically, concussion does not cause insanity or madness in lay persons language. In fact one concussion is not deemed serious ,a person should have had 10 or12 concussions repeatedly to suffer from what is called Dementia like the boxer Benoit ,who later in madness murdered his complete family.

My next question to LTL CVs is under which category does Nakusha's madness fall under

for there are many categories of mental disorders: here are some broad categories, phobias? skitzsophrenia? mood altering? depression/manic depression? personality disorder? perceptual disorder??? to name a few...

Also CVs could you please elucidate the cause of her mental disorder, Dutta's disappearance is too obvious and easy to pass off as drama ,as there are many factors that cause insanity,namely stress,anxiety,long exposure to continous stress can also push a person beyond breaking point,as most people have a certain resistance to things allowing them to survive the stressful periods with their sanity still intact! So CVs what is the method behind Nakkusha's madness??

Of course as veiwers we realize, and its medically known as well that a person's mental stability can make them do things which they would not do or engage in.Trauma, which I suspect Colours is using for Nakusha,is the most cited variable to cause insanity, particularly if it occurs during a certain time period. But my issue remains that do Colors understand that insanity is defined ultimately on an individual basis as no person has the same sanity as the other, with many variables and factors causing insanity.Which one is Colors using? have they explained this to the veiwers ,where the general public misunderstands this illness and continues to attach a stigma to it.

If Colors have no answer for us as veiwers, then its just another chaska they want the veiwers to have ,so Colors can climb one more rung of the trp ladder ,while they play the blind game of insensitivity with those families who may be dealing with issues surrounding mental heath!

NB: it appears now that the " madness" of the female lead of LTL is being mixed with regressive age inappropriate mentally challenged behaviour! .... what ever next!
