In Business Baazigar, episode 8, the 14 finalists who were split into seven groups of two ace the challenge set for them in the previous episode: To survive for 24 hrs in Mumbai with just Re 1. The winning team would be the one who managed to earn the maximum money at the end of the task.
The first ones to crack the deal and earn money were Nandini and Puneet. They fixed the deal with a mehendiwali, but once the business started picking up pace, the 'aunty' disappeared with the Rs 5 they earned.
Not losing hope they quickly fixed another deal with a photographer and this idea also came to a standstill when the other photographers protested. But this time around, they had managed to earn a substantial amount.
After spending quality time planning, Arundhati and Irfan finally fixed a deal with a chana vendor at Fashion Street. But the extra attention and crowd pulling strategies that they adopted led to the closure of the deal: But not before they had managed to earn Rs 115/-
Partha and Rakhee took a different route. They had secured a job in the popular Caf Leopold, and spent the day waiting at tables and interacting with the customers. They were assured of good food, but nothing concrete was fixed in terms of money.
After cleaning taxis, Ali and Ankur got a lucky break when they earned big money by assisting some foreigners in buying a laptop. They earned a fat commission of Rs 2300/- , putting them ahead of the rest with the most money earned so far.
Leena and Prakash decided to add a twist to their roadside quizzing competition. To earn more money, they announced to all participants that a winner would be declared after four days and awarded a big bumper prize. They seemed to have forgotten that their task was only 24 hours long!.
Still at the bottom of the game were Mahesh and Manish, in search of dignified work, rejecting various jobs opportunities coming their way on the grounds that it was not good enough for them.
In the same boat, Swati and Satyajit spent lots more time doing extensive market surveys in search of innovative ideas, adamant that they would only do business and not work as a job under someone.
Will these two teams be able to get what they want or is it an unrealistic dream considering the stake at hand and the reality of hunger and survival creeping up on them?
