😆After so much dramaa in PR n emotional upheaval on our forum i thought why not relieve ourself from the tension gripping us these days. I've written this short fiction n i hope u'll like it.😳
Manav was busy working when he got a phone call from a hysterical Varsha asking him 2 reach home quickly. Manav immediately understood that something was wrong n felt his blood turned 2 ices in his veins. He stuttered:
- Is something wrong with A..Archana?
- Yeah jeeju. We were shopping when she felt weak n fainted. We r taking her home since it's closer from here n Vaishu has already called for a doc.
Manav didn't wait 4 her 2 complete her sentence, jumped in a taxi n asked the driver 2 rush. The time seemed 2 b going at a snail's pace n he was restless. He lowered the car window n let the air blew on his face. There was a real danger of him not being able 2 breathe n at that moment the fresh air was helping him 2 keep his anxiety at a manageable level. He was tensed n dead scared. He was remembering the day Archana fell sick, the doc's words n them moving 2 the Ks, praying at the same time that there was nothing serious n that his Archana was fine.
He reached home n stormed inside 2 c his saalis around the bed with Archana lying looking white as a ghost with her eyes closed. The colour drained from his face, he moved forward n looked at both his saalis.
- Wat happened 2 Archana? Where's the doctor?
At the sound of his voice, Archana opened her eyes n gazed at him lovingly. He rushed 2 her side n took her hands in his n asked with concern in his voice:
- Wat happened 2 you?
Archana smiled weakly n so did Vaishu n Varsha.
- Kya hua? Will someone tell me? Yahan meri jaan jaa raha hain n u r all silent.
Varsha n Vaishu smiled again n Archana blushed n smiled coyly. After some minutes, Varsha said:
- Jeeju the doc is gone. I think it will b better if ur wife tells u wat happened n dragging Vaishu with her, the 2 sisters went away.
A confused Manav looked at their backs n shifted his attention back 2 his wife who was now sitting in the bed with a big question mark in his eyes. He moved 2 the bedside n started:
- Kya huwa? Wat did the doc said? Ur BP is low, isn't it? U don't take gud care of urself Archana.
Yeah I'm sure it is this!! I'm warning u Archana if u keep neglecting urself like this....
Manav kept going on like broken records that Archana had 2 stop him. Putting a finger on his lips, she finally spoke up:
- I'm fine Manav. My BP is normal n mujhe kuch nahin hua hain. Doctor said I'm perfectly all right
Seeing that Manav didn't look convinced she said :
- Aap ki kassam!!
Manav was now relieved n convinced that Archu was not lying.
She chuckled n Manav looking like an ullu asked:
- Why did u faint then? Was it the scorching sun?
Archana blushing profusely, shook her head n started:
- No' I' I mean, we r going 2 b', I mean soon we'll no longer b alone'
Seeing him gazing at her with incomprehension n a frown on his face, she brushed him aside with her hand n said:
- Aap bhi naa, u r too much!! Do I have 2 tell u everything Manav?
Manav:
- Arrey how will I know if u don't tell me?
A resigned Archu muttered:
- The doctor said that u will be a daddy soon.
Manav stood motionless n stared at her with disbelief. Finally his eyes filled with tears. Archana gazed at him with a soft smile on her beautiful face. His eyes spoke volumes but she needed 2 ask him:
- Aren't u happy Manav?
Unable 2 speak n feeling a lump in his throat, he grabbed her n wrapped her in his arms smiling in between tears. Finally, cupping her beautiful face in his hands n looking straightly in her eyes he spoke up:
- U've given me the most incredible n fantastic news in my life Archana. Falling in love with u n u reciprocated, in itself was just like a dream coming true, marrying u n having u in my life as my wife is for me Bappa's grace n now this!! OMG I can't believe it.
He kept hugging her, talking, dreaming and planning, looking for names n his excitement knew no bound. Seeing him in such a state made Archu emotional n her eyes filled. Manav immediately stopped n looking very concerned asked:
- Is anything wrong Archana?
Archu quickly reassured him by saying mischievously:
- No. Mood swings may b , pregnancy ki side effects n u must get used 2 it. I've never fought with me, may b I'll start n will even throw tantrums.😳
- Oh I'm sure u'll look even more beautiful n I'll end up loving u more.😃
They both hugged n kissed n finally laid beside each other. Archu was quick 2 fall asleep may b due 2 too much excitement n tiredness but Manav was unable 2 sleep. He kept staring at his pretty wife who was looking like sleeping beauty waiting 4 her prince 2 come n kiss her 2 wake her up. He smiled n felt damn lucky when he married her n not even once he had an iota of doubt about his love n feelings for her despite various ups n downs in their life. Now after her giving him this gud news he just can't stop feeling blessed.
Wat else cud he asked from God? May b his family reunion, the most awaited patch-up between him n his aai. Suddenly tides of hope start stirring in his heart. May b yes, may b its God wish after all? May b this new member in the Deshmukh family will b able 2 do wat he n Archana have not been able 2 do.May b aai will melt down seeing her grandchild.😊 One thing he was sure of is that beneath the facade of harshness n rudeness lays an emotional lady n the coming of his n Archana's baby wont leave his aai insensitive.
Archana stirred n opened her eyes 2 c a Manav in deep thought.
- Wat r u doing so late at nite? U thinking abt aai? R u worried?
Manav took her in his arms n inhaling deeply said:
- No! I was thinking abt u, about how much I love you n how lucky I am 2 have such a beautiful princess. I'm sure other men always look at me with envy.
- Wat r u saying Manav? R u crazy?, Archana chuckled with laughter with her eyes rolling in disbelief
- Yes I am!! he screamed. I'm going 2 b a father n I want everybody 2 know it.
Both laughed n embraced each other n went on with their sweet nonsense all nite.
- Archana I'm sure we gonna have twins.
- Manav shut up please.
- No I wont! I'm going 2 b the best daddy on earth.
- I'm sure u will Manav but do u know its hard work 2 look after a baby. The toughest job on Earth I'll say.
- Koi dar nahin.
- Accha!! Most newborns only sleep and eat, and are awake for about an hour a day n ur neend will defo b haraam at nite I warn you.
- No problem. I'll feed him, bathe him n change him too.
- N wat will I do if u'll do everything?
- Give me another baby nex year in case we don't get twins this time
- Dhat!! U r very besharam Manav!!.
She pushed him with mischief n amusement in her eyes n said:
- I think we better sleep since we'll soon b sleep deprived
- N I have a better idea!!
- Kya?
- Cant tell you but will surely show you coz somebody told me that with the arrival of a baby this too becomes rare!!
