When it comes to comedy,actor Dilip Joshi has always won hearts with his powerpacked performances thanks to his ability to get involved with the character he essays.Popular as Jethalal in the popular comedy,Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Dilip says he likes,experimenting.When I am offered a role I always try to do something different,adapt a special accent or try to justify the character, says the fun-loving and talented actor.
Apart from serials and movies,Dilip has worked in highly acclaimed plays such as Bapu Tamey Kamal Kari and Jalsa Karo Jayantilal.We prod him about the award he has recently bagged for his contribution to the television industry and he says,It always feels great to win one!
With the popularity of a number of stand-up comedy shows Dilip feels that there was a time when the viewers were yearning for comedy and no channel wanted to do a comedy show.But on television,if one particular concept works then it becomes a trend.Thats what happened after Laughter Challenge.With competition getting tougher after the rise in the number of comedy shows and talent hunts,ask the actor if he is threatened by the competition and he says,I think most stand-up comedians cant act.Telling jokes is easy but making people laugh with your expressions is difficult.But of course,there can be exceptions like Johnny Lever.
