| The industry, obsessed with star gharanas, has been waiting endlessly for the debut of Kat's sister Isabel. The older Kaif has now decided that celebrity begins at home. She will not only produce a movie to launch Isabel but also star alongside with her to guarantee her an audience.
She has almost bought the rights of a French film for which she wants to play a female soldier along the lines of Goldie Hawn's Private Benjamin. But she decided to save the moment and use it for her sister's benefit. Isabel has finished attending acting school in the US and Katrina will now take the plunge." Sources say Katrina was initially reluctant to feature in her sister's debut film because she wanted to avoid comparisons. But she has since realised that this is one way to ensure eyeballs for Isabel. Kat says the script is still a "work in progress". But one thing is for certain. In the film, they won't be playing sisters. Katrina told Mumbai Mirror, "I can't deny the fact that my sister is making her debut. But it's too early to give out details. I will say this though. When I came to Bollywood, I couldn't tell Sholay from Mughal-e-Azam. I'm going to ensure my sister understands the cinematic and spoken language of Hindi cinema. I will give her the initial boost. The rest is up to God and the audience." A source added, "Katrina feels her sister is more equipped for stardom than she ever was because her star-sister can guide her through the Bollywood maze." Isabel's Bollywood acclimatization includes watching films her sibling recommends and speaking in Hindi. Kat insists on conversing with Isabel in Hindi, source say. The audience has already forgiven the star's flawed language skills. Let's see if it extends the same soft spot to her sister. |
