Sharan composed all
11 keyboard symphonies in
the album Sharan's Dream'z
Sharan Aggarwal released his own music album. Nothing newsworthy about it until you realise that Sharan is just 12, and has composed all 11 keyboard symphonies in the album himself. The album, titled Sharan's Dream'z, was released on March 30.

Sharan, a Napeansea Road-resident, hopes to follow AR Rahman's footsteps. "I admire Rahman. He is the best music composer. I want to be the next AR Rahman. I also like Himesh Reshammiya's music," he said.

The album came about when Sharan approached Krunal Music with 20 compositions. To begin with, the music company had doubts about his ability to create the music. But once they heard him play, they snapped up 11 compositions.

Started at 8

Sharan started his musical training from Yogendra Gangani at the age of eight. He uses a Yamaha PSR 740 keyboard — a digital electronic keyboard — that he has had since he was eight. The keyboard contains 1,000 sounds, vocal chord harmony and 32 multi-tracks with multi-recording.

What started out as a hobby turned into a passion, when he met Gangani at a friend's place and asked him to tutor him too. "I teach him twice a week and at least two hours a day. But I just taught him how to play Western music not how to compose it. The boy is very creative. The first time he tried to compose his own music, he was just four years old," said Gangani.

Sharan, a student of The Cathedral and John Connon School, is a merit holder and a football player too. But he prefers giving more time to his music practice than to playing with friends. He makes sure he doesn't stop his music practice even during his exams. "I want to be a music composer," he explains.

"Sharan is a diamond," says Jayesh Vira, owner of Krunal Music.
