I think it's part of the script, coz after he did this, Geet handed him the plate, maybe he did this coz he is scared to talk with her, as she is angry 😆, thought he is trying his best to get her attentions.......

I had noticed that too..

I thought it was a cool gesture to get Geet's attention... bol to sakta nahi tha bechara!! Biwi naaraz jo thi!!!!
