Has Hrithik lost interest in his work?

Felt wronged at being rejected in Guzaarish, Hrithik refuses to give all for a role now.

Poor Box office response clubbed with rejection from a popular award show for his stellar performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish had left Hrithik Roshan numb and hurt. He had put all his efforts in finely depicting the role of a wheelchair bound quadriplegic which left him emotionally and mentally drained out at the end of the film. Therefore it was natural for him to expect appreciations across if not galore of awards.

"It was sad to see people writing off the movie immediately after the release. You put in so much of effort, do something different than the usual stuff and than to be outrightly rejected like this, hurts. I had given all my efforts to shape up this role," says the actor. The rejection left Hrithik with a firm thought. "I don't feel like giving 100% to any role ever. I am absolutely disillusioned," admits Hrithik recalling the post Guzaarish phase.

That's when news of his low phase reached his close friends who immediately came forward and tried lifting him up from the depths of despair. Even good friends Shah Rukh Khan, reportedly connected with him instantly and helped him sail through it. "Lows and highs are part of your work and it's natural that one gets affected by it. But to plunge into despair if things didn't work out as per our expectations can be disastrous. And the sad fate of a movie at the BO has got to do with a lot of factors of the film than just the hero", a close friend of the actor confided.

Thirty seven year old Hrithik who started his career as a child actor accepted and understood the math of life and eventually took everything on his stride. "Only after biggest failures comes biggest success. I am learning it now", says the actor. Indeed it was a learning period for the actor who has now promised to put all his efforts in every role he enacts, including that of Suzzane's husband. And it's there for everyone to see.

every body went through a low phase..SRK, AMIR SALMAN, AKK every one..but they bounced back..

should i believe this article...after i just read his tweet 'of thanking people and everybody apreciating for guzzarrish....he got it so much from the film'' 🤔 then whats tht man? if the real hrithik is saying tht...why i should believe the media then ? 😆

i agree he must be sad...and he shuld be...if he had reached 60 or 70 film such film would have been aceepted since market doesnt matter when u reach at tht age.....but when ur market goes up any flaw can wither ur hopes for a long time.......now who was akshay in front of hrithik few years back but today the scenario is changed...

all hrithik needs to give a hit and all the mouth strings shall be fixed..

Jeez give it a break.. this guy still commands a large fan following .. he just needs to get his head out of aamir's rear end, that's all!

Sallu was going thru a terrible phase before wanted put him back on the map! Hrithik needs to do a desi commercial entertainer that connects with the aam junta but the man is too busy feeling mighty on serving out pasta in a biriyani restaurant !!

@bold- I second that as well. Hrithik thought films like Kites and Guzarish will become commercial hits in India, but the fact is, Indian audience likes watching 'entertaining' movies when they go to cinema hall. Not the story of a quadriplegic or a movie full of Spanish dialogues......Although both Kites and Guzarish are really nice 'movies', but not exactly 'entertaining', which junta will feel like spending money on to watch in the hall. 🤔.................I am a big Hrithik fan n i have watched both these movies and frankly telling, i loved both of them (m unbiased here). But i too didn't watch them in the hall, 'coz i can watch a Tanu Weds Manu in the hall, but not a gloomy story.

Aww, he's just going through a low phase at the moment. But he seems as determined as ever to do well, I'm sure this year will be much better for him b/o wise.
