Article: Anupam Shyam awarded by Awadhi Sammaan

Lucknow: It was all about the respect of the Avadh Culture, Avadh Language and the people of Avadh. Yes! It was an evening to admire the Avadhi people who are living not only in this province but those who went out to make Awadh proud by their efforts.

On 2nd February many Avadhi Artists, Writers, Journalists have been rewarded by the 'Awadhi Sammaan 2011' awards by the 'Avadhi Vikas Sansthaan' (Development Institute of Avadh). This function was organised at Ravindralaya guesthouse. This function was inaugurated by Justice S. C. Verma and ADM O. P. Pathak by lighting up the lamp.

On this occasion, the reputable Prem Shukla, Chief Assistant Editor presently based in Mumbai, of a Hindi Saamna Newspaper said that the Avadhi culture is so respectful that the monkeys of Ayodhya's Hanuman Mandir, who are so playful, take the 'prasad' while standing in a queue. He further went on to say that the Avadhi language is so sweet and humble that whatever is said, it falls straight into your heart.

Giving the reference of Tulsidas's 'Ramcharitmanas', Prem Shukla said that if the consciousness of Avadhi culture is removed then there is nothing left. In the same way he gave the reference of Jaysi's 'Padhmavat'. Later he emphasized on one point i.e. when a man goes out of Ayodhaya, he has a name and identity. He gave the example of Lord Ram, when he left for Sri Lanka, he was famous. In the same way, all the people who left Avadh for some or the other work, made an identity in the world.

Continuing with his speech, Prem Shukla said that Shivsena's Bala Sahab Thakre was also from Avadh. He migrated to Maharashtra from Avadh only and made his name there.

Prem Shukla further said that just like Bhojpuri, Avadhi will also be recognized worldwide because soon the conference will be held not only in Mumbai, but Suriname and Mauritius as well.

On this occasion, writer Atul Tiwari, Dilip Shukla and Actor Anupam Shyam were also present. Famous writer of movies like 'Dabangg', 'Ghayal', 'Damini', 'Mohra' and 'Ziddi', Dilip Shukla, Atul Tiwari who acted in famous movies like '3 Idiots' and writer of 'Mission Kashmir', the famous character of 'Sajjan Singh' in 'Pratigya', Anupam Shyam, Madhurima Tiwari, 'Artist' Surya Mohan Kulshresth, Social Worker Anil Tekrivalchanel, Dr Anil Rastogi and B. R. Tripathi were honoured by Justice S. C. Verma and ADM O. P.Pathak.

Overwhelmed by the award, writer Dilip Shukla said that his mother has encouraged him for whatever he is today and he is proud to achieve this award in front of her. He further went on to say that with the fast pace of life, cinema is also changing and so are the trends of people. We write some dialogues for which we get appreciation but those dialogues makes us to sit and think about them.
Acter-Writer Atul Tiwari gave full credit to his family, his place (Avadh) and his theatre. He further went on to say that Avadhi can be taken out from the Hindi language but how can one remove Hindi from Avadhi and soon books on Avadhi cinema will be available to the masses.

Actor Anupam Shyam was also overwhelmed and remembered the old time when he performed on the same stage where today he was rewarded.

In the end, the team of Sheetla Prasad Verma performed a dance which was appreciated by all. President of the organisation Vinod Mishra thanked everybody who attended the function.
