Bigg Boss is not my cup of tea

Says anchor-actress Roshni Chopra in an interview with AT

Shruti Jambhekar I TNN

This leggy lass started her career with cricket, yesas an anchor for the cricket chat show Fourth Umpire on Doordarshan with Charu Sharma! No second guesses on this oneits Roshni Chopra. This Delhi-girl clinched household fame in the role of Pia in Kasamh Se.And if that is not enough, she has participated in reality shows and also won Dil Jeetegi Desi Girl. She was in Ahmedabad to promote her new show Pyaar Mein Twist and we caught her at her chatty best.
We asked her to describe her character, and she says,I play Rekha who is modern and nice girl! She is bold enough to propose a guy and is not like run-on-the-mill kind of a protagonist. This is a new challenge for me to step into comedy soap. This is no slapstick comedy but more of believable and real comedy serial. Ask her about how she feels coming back with a serials after such a long gap I was getting lots of offers but, wanted to take up a good role.I always want to take up roles I believe in.I have been educated to project what I think and whats progressive.
She has been hosting Comedy Circus and has been the part of reality shows, what is her take on being tagged as a reality show star I think reality shows give a good exposure to a person and are produced under huge pressure.I participated in Dil jeetegi Desi Girl and Jhoom India as the concept appealed me.A show like Bigg Boss is not my cup of tea as I personally feel it brings out the worst in you. Roshni always love to stay busy with anchoring as she loves it.Currently, she is a part of a culinary show besides enacting a role in Pyaar Mein Twist. And ask her if she got any offers for cricket chat shows Pat comes the reply,Oh yes.I got lot of offers to anchor cricket chat shows and I simply love cricket, but all these commitments stop me from taking it up.
For all those who like Roshni Chopra, theyll soon see her on silver screen.I have just finished working on a film with Vikram Bhatt titled Phhir which is a romantic thriller. Working for both the small screen and the silver screen we ask her how is the experience and she says it is very different.Telly shows are fast paced product whereas films are made at leisure, but both have their own charisma! And out of anchoring and acting feels that anchoring needs energy and acting is like a drug that gives one emotional satisfaction!
Roshni is married to her childhood sweetheart Siddharth Anand Kumar, who happens to be a director. It is lovely to have him in my lifehe is a director so,he is my biggest critic and my biggest fan too.Im lucky to have him in my life! Roshni enjoys, singing, travelling and photography whenever Ive time. Roshni loves the state,Ive visited Gujarat many times and love the Gujarati food and people, as she signs off with a smile.
