Judgement on reality show judges!
Buzz up!
Kavita Awaasthi/Hill Road Media

Contestants on dance shows, undoubtedly bring drama, but the judges are the leading stars of the show who hook the audiences on with their celebrity image, professional attitude and quirky remarks. Here's a look at some of the judges in recent dance shows and how they stand apart.
Showing 3 of 7 images Previous Next

Urmila Matondkar
Oomphy Urmila might have replaced Mallika Sherawat in Chak Dhoom Dhoom but she is not a novice. With experience of judging earlier season of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, Urmila is basking in the attention of her co judges Terence Lewis and Jaaved Jafri while doling out expert remarks to the dance groups competing in the show. With no films on hand, this television appearance is the best way to stay in the limelight.
Fashion quotient: Gowns, gowns and more gowns. Urmila seems to know what the audience wants -a glamorous filmstar judging the aam janta and she delivers on the dot.
What we like: Competent at her job, Urmila doesn't hurt contestants but builds their morale. She is firm but not blunt and that makes her a darling.
Not happening: She is sticking to playing a diva and not commenting about the technical aspect of dancing.
RATING: 3.5

Terence Lewis
Terence Lewis though is a very versatile dancer, his image seems to be restricted to the modern dance forms he shows off in the shows. From DID to Chak Dhoom Dhoom, Terence enjoys playing a judge in various formats and the role suits him to the T.
Fashion quotient: flamboyant, over the top, cowboy- numerous descriptions jell with Terence, who can carry off over the top outfits with elan.
What we like: His sweet nature, his zest for shocking the audience with his fashion sense and his versatile dancing abilities.
Not happening: Are his weird outfits and being too sweet - at times.
RATING:3.5

Though I like Urmila more than Mallika, still not my fav for a judge in a dance show.. So no comments on Urmila.. But Terence - he is dashing, elegant, credible, talented, creative, stylish, and above all a humble and down to earth human being!! Even his presence on a show is good enough for a big bunch of fans to start following that show.. That's how I started to watch CDD!!
He is very honest in his remarks, that's one thing I respect a lot in him.. Even if it's his team, he gives honest opinions and never get biased.. I guess he is being sweeter in CDD for a few reasons -- it's a group dance show and so it's hard to judge each dancer individually for the entire act, so the comments become for the group in general.. He doesnt do the choreography for any group and the competition between mentors is not there, so he doesnt have to point each good and bad points to each contestant so that they can work on it, but only provide some general suggestions for impreovement for the whole team.. Terence is the best!!! 😃

He always wanted to promote all kinds of dance styles and forms, and group dance is something that hasnt gained much recognition on reality TV.. So I am so happy that he is part of this show now, so that many people started watching it for him, like me, and now has a better outlook on the show.. 😃

If 1.8 rating means around 10 people watching the show, then 3. rating means what - around 20 people watching the show?! Oh what a big difference between 10 and 20!!! 🤣
