Is a Bollywood film ever going to win an Oscar?

😕 It is so sad that a Bollywood film has never won a Oscar in the category of "Best Foreign Film." Why has this been the case? We know Oscar voters are turned off by musicals, but I fail to understand why a movie like Peepli Live is not being submitted for the Oscar nomination list this year. Peepli Live was a hit, critically acclaimed, and is from the best Khan himself (Aamir Khan).

Only three films have been nominated for the Oscar: Mother India, Salaam Bombay, and Lagaan. Slumdog Millionaire won the Oscar, but it is a British film and not from Bollywood! Is a Bollywood film ever going to win an Oscar?
Don't you think it is about time?

Well when movies like Devdas are selected instead of Bhagat Singh, the chances are slim

Devdas was not liked by Oscar voters because it was to long and had to many songs! Bhagat Singh was the perfect choice! 😭

Erotic.. few corrections.... 😊
1.Three films until now have been nominated from India... Mother India, Lagaan and Salaam Bombay...
2. My Name is Khan was not India's entry.... It was Peepli Live which was India's entry and it did not make the nomination list...
