Maati Ki Banno is different from what we've been watching in Hindi films.
The show is about a girl from Mauritius, who married a man from Uttar Pradesh and how she adjusts into the setup. The girl, Avanti, an orphan, believes that living in a family would change her life for the better. Her husband Arjun, then brings her to Uttar Pradesh.
However, the family rejects her stating that since she has come from Mauritius, she's culturally different, but the women of the family stand by her.
The opening episode of the show made the most impact because of the child actor who played Avanti. At one point, it became a desi Cinderella story and now is headed towards kitchen politics.
The lead couple is strictly okay, mainly because there is no chemistry between them.
We didn't like the show, but if you have nothing better to do at 6 pm, then watch it.
