Sheila and Munni will have competition soon from another Shaher ki rani. The song from Tera Kya Hoga Johny features Soha Ali Khan and Abhay Deol. Yes, while uncle Dharmendra and cousins, Sunny and Bobby, are swinging to the tunes of Yamla pagla deewana', Abhay Deol will be seen in this item number getting cosy with Soha in a nightclub. The catchy soundtrack and his rapport with Soha reportedly lured Abhay into doing the song.

Composer Abhishek Ray, who has given the background score for the film, along with the driver track, explains that this Shaher ki rani epitomises Mumbai, a city that is glam and everyone's object of desire. "But you get her only if you play the game right, like our 15-year-old tea vendor, Johny, who uses his contacts and intelligently negotiates the intricate web of relationships stemming from love, lust, betrayal and politics to reach his goal," Ray explains, adding that he abhay deolshould know given that in the last eight years since debuting with Haasil, he has been a part of the city's chakravyu.

Ray admits that you'd expect Richa Sharma or Sunidhi Chauhan to sing this stylised, sultry track but it's actually the sweet and mellifluous Shreya Ghoshal. "It shows a wild, untamed side to Shreya, one that we have never heard before. There's a raspy grain in her voice and I've layered it in places to make it sound different," he points out.

Ray recorded the song on November 3. He points to the Arabic and occidental influences in the arrangements and the vocals: "It's not in the Bihar-UP space. It's urban and funky. I've used a technique called flanging, and had the track mastered in London."

The film directed by Sudhir Mishra has been doing the festival circuit for the last two years. After being leaked on YouTube, it was completely revamped for the theatrical release this Friday.

Rai told that the song will be sung by Richa Sharma or Sunidhi Chauhan to make it stylish. Rai also told that he recorded the song on 3rd November and the song is urban and funky and not shooted in the Bihar or UP.The film is directed by Sudhir Mishra.
