After piercing the other's heart with daggers of malicious words, after exhausting all the hatred for one another, after being mentally and physically exhausted of fighting the other, both had silently decided to keep out of the other's way. They were done trying to hurt the other, they were done trying to hurt themselves in the bargain, they were done trying to prove their point in vain. None gave up and so none lost or won.
He came to the office less often now, trying to keep away from her lest he hurts her again which will only cause him more pain. And she had abandoned her bickering and kept at work only. Life was becoming peaceful again. He occasionally peeked into her cabin only to find her sitting by the window lost in thoughts. He knew what or rather who she was thinking about, but refused to give it another moment's importance. What she did now did not matter to her, as long as she was not in his way or so she thought.
With each passing day, he made his appearance meager. He came to the office only to keep himself updated on the activities in the company. But with time, that too had receded. He only came after everyone had left for the day. He knew she would care less if she saw him or not. But he could at least give her the peace of mind with his absence, specially in this condition. She was very well aware of why he had taken this decision of coming in after hours. She knew she was the cause.
A few days ago, she was called into the break room. She had been pleasantly surprised to see sandwiches, chips and drinks displayed on the table. "Today is team lunch" is what she was told. She willingly took a sandwich in a plate with a few chips. "What's all this for?" she asked and was told "The boss has arranged for lunch today. There is some cake too" she heard as she held the sandwich between her teeth. She immediately pulled it back with a sad look on her face because she knew it wasn't team lunch, it was her birthday. His heart stung when he saw her pull away the sandwich from her mouth. "I'm not hungry right now" is what she said before placing the plate down and turning away. He had been watching her from a distance and hid himself when she left from there. His heart broke into a million pieces. He had figured why she refused to eat any of it. She had spotted him eavesdropping without his knowledge. When he walked away into his cabin, she came back to the break room to take all the leftovers with her. She finished all of it, little by little, meal by meal, even though the sandwiches had turned soggy after a day. She savored anything and everything that reminded her of him. After that day, she didn't see him again. But he waited in the cafe from across the street every morning, just to see her once, which was enough to give him courage to go by the day.
She thought he had stopped coming to the office only to be wronged when once she stayed later than usual. He did come to the office, but at a time when he was sure to not find her around. He avoided any chance to upset her now. She had forgotten her keys in the office and had come back only to stop in her steps to find him in his cabin. Her heart had stopped beating in the moments she stood and watched him. She didn't know she longed to see him until her eyes filled with tears. She hurried her way out before he saw her and waited till he left to get back into her office to get her keys. And since then, she always stayed later than usual and waited in the parking lot to get one glimpse of him when he came to the office after hours.

Main Yahaan Tu Vahaan Zindagi Hai Kahaan
Tu Hi Tu Hai Sanam Dekhtaa Hoon Jahaan
Neend Aati Nahin Yaad Jaati Nahin
Neend Aati Nahin Yaad Jaati Nahin
Bin Tere Ab Jiyaa Jaaye Na
Maaneet ka Haal-e-dil
Vaqt Jaise Thahar Gayaa Hai Yahin, Har Taraf Ek Ajab Udaasi Hai
Beqaraari Kaa Aisaa Aalam Hai Jism Tanhaa Hai Rooh Pyaasi Hai
Maan
Teri Soorat Ab Ek Pal Kyun Nazar Se Hatati Nahin
Raat Din To Kat Jaate Hain Umr Tanhaa Katati Nahin
Chaah Ke Bhi Na Kuchh Kah Sakoon Tujhse Main
Dard Kaise Karoon Main Bayaan
Main Yahaan Tu Vahaan Zindagi Hai Kahaan
Geet
Jab Kahin Bhi Aahat Huee Yun Lagaa Ke Tu Aa Gayaa
Khushboo Ke Jhonke Ki Tarah Meri Saansein Mahkaa Gayaa
Ek Vo Daur Thaa Ham Sadaa Paas The
Ab To Hain Faasle Darmiyaan
Main Yahaan Tu Vahaan Zindagi Hai Kahaan
Maan
Beeti Baatein Yaad Aati Hain Jab Akelaa Hotaa Hoon Main
Bolti Hain Khaamoshiyaan Sabse Chhupke Rotaa Hoon Main
Ek Arsaa Huaa Muskuraaye Huey
Aansuon Mein Dhali Daastaan
Maaneet
Main Yahaan Tu Vahaan Zindagi Hai Kahaan
Tu Hi Tu Hai Sanam Dekhtaa Hoon Jahaan
Neend Aati Nahin Yaad Jaati Nahin
Bin Tere Ab Jiyaa Jaaye Na
