In one short sentence today, we learnt from Loha Singh who apparently has locked up Madhur in some isolated hut somewhere or has killed him (is still unclear), that Aunt Barchi had thrown him out of the house.
Loha says to Madhur that his only sister (Barchi) had thrown him (Madhur) out of the house, and he (Loha) had given him sanctuary in his own house. (And then he goes on to say that Madhur had turned around and done a very evil thing by running off with his cousin's wife.)
The question is: Why did Aunt Barchi throw Madhur out of the house?
She had looked very happy on the day of Madhur's wedding.
She had made a delightful face (that we all had seen) and which meant that she was joyful that her son had finally done the right thing and had chosen a pretty, well-educated, well-brought up, upper caste, rich girl rather than the low caste, poor girl Rekha.
Like always this statement (that Loha made) makes no sense at all. We were never told that Aunt Barchi was angry with Madhur. There was never any confrontation between the two. After the wedding, Aunt Barchi had simply disappeared, and Madhur and Suman had stayed on at Loha's house. The aunt with the loud voice didn't come to see her son and daughter-in-law even once in all that time.
I think the CVs seriously need a brain surgery.. ๐ก๐ก๐ก
