Viren the 'Grey Man';
there is a change in Viren since he's come back the guy that was pagal for Nivi and it showed in his every action has disappeared and instead what has returned is someone who is far more controlled in his actions and in his sayings.
He plays hot and cold with Nivi as can be seen with the forcing her to sleep on his bed; the way he held her wrist you could see it was tight and painful and his tone of voice. But once he saw the distress on Nivi face he changed it with a laugh, a 'pati' joke and a cheeky grin but he got his way.
His remark to his Chanchal with regards her deserving a Bahu like Nivi; not from a high background or beautiful cause 'she' must of done something was a slap to Chancal but was spiteful to Nivi!
And then the silent talk between Maa-Beta; what could Viren of said that would make Chancal do a U-turn? I'm sure we all want to know that!
On the other side he is still attentive with Nivi; him sleeping on the couch, the way he realised that Nivi was uncomfortable and not wanting to push/force a relationship until she is ready and wants it herself.
The rose and the letter, the way he looks at her reminds her of the 'old' Viren who was ready to take on the world for Nivi!
That's why I call Viren the 'Grey Man', unlike Siddath and Nivi who's characters we know to be straight and 'good' Viren character as shown since coming back can go either way; good or bad.
But then comes the question why bad?
The obvious reason is revenge for what happened to Dadaji but would someone go to that extent as to marry for revenge? The one think Viren is is not stupid so personally I would rule that reason out, however out of 'haq' ?
Viren has always known where and what his place is and it's not Dadaji 2nd in command or the favorite grandson, even down to the woman he loves his 'brother' had 1st haq on her and he knows she still loves Siddath.
Could it be that Viren to get what he sees as his 'haq', his place not only in the Family but in the Company married Nivi?
Knowing that your 'brother' love is your wife would that not be torturous? Seeing her in trouble; hated or in physical harm and you are unable to do anything about it would that not twist the knife?
If I had said this about Siddath we would've all gone immediately NO WAY but with Viren I think the possibility is there.
However the other side of the coin is that Viren could just as easily turn out to be good. Unlike Siddath where he has rules on how thinks are done and likes things to fit into them no matter how long it takes, Viren the person who would break all the rules for what he believed to be right.
Viren has his own believes and will not bend them for anyone but he also sees that where a rotten branch needs to cut for the health of the tree he will do so even if to others it looks healthy.
There is a steely strength in Viren that I'm sure we and the Family are about to see in fact Chancal might of already seen it with the silent talk which could easily be Viren telling Chancal to toe the line with his wife otherwise the consequences could be dire. We see it also with his interactions with Nivi pushing her to be more then what she is.
As much as I miss the Viren of old, the way he was with Nivi I do like the idea of eveyone doubting him- is he or isn't it and that why i call him the 'Grey Man'.
