GEC Watch: Sony loses; SAB gains

Sony has lost 20 GRPs while SAB has added 8 GRPs.

While Star Plus, the flagship Hindi GEC from the STAR stable, continues to lead the Hindi GEC flock for the week ended November 20, it has lost 19 GRPs during the week. The channel has also seen a drop in its channel share from 26.5 in Week 46 to 25.7 per cent in Week 47.

Viacom18's channel, Colors, the second in command in the Hindi GEC space, on the other hand, has added 11 points to its GRP grade to stand at 291 GRPs for the same period. Its relative channel share has also moved up to 21.1 per cent from 19.9 per cent in the previous week.

Zee TV has added just 3 points to its GRP scorecard, pocketing 208 points for the week, while its relative share, too, has witnessed only a marginal upswing - a groW*H from 14.6 per cent to 15.1 per cent. Meanwhile, its flagship show, Pavitra Rishta, is once again the top show for the week with a TVR of 6.27.

Sony Entertainment Television, standing at the fourth spot, has lost 20 points during the week, wherein its GRP stands at 169. Its relative share has also fallen to 13.4 per cent.

Sony's sibling channel, SAB, however, has a different story to relate. Standing at No. 5, the channel has added 8 GRPs to its kitty to showcase a GRP scorecard of 145. The channel's relative share is 10.5 per cent, up from the 9.7 per cent that it had registered in the previous week.

SAB is followed by Imagine TV, which has lost both in GRPs as well as channel share. It has lost 4 GRPs during the week, garnering a score of 101 GRPs, while recording a relative share of 7.3 per cent, down from the 7.5 per cent registered in Week 46.

STAR One is at No. 7; the channel's relative share is 3 per cent for the week, while its GRPs have moved down from 43 GRPs to 41 GRPs.

DD1 and STAR Utsav have garnered relative shares of 1.2 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively, while Sahara One has garnered a relative share of 1.9 per cent.

Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV is the most watched programme in the Top 10 list with a TVR of 6.27. Four shows from the STAR Plus stable, including Bidayi, Saathiya Saath Nibhana (with 5.43 TVR), Sasural Genda Phool (with 5.29 TVR), Pratigya (with 5.31 TVR) and Chand Chhupa Badal Mein (with 5.97 TVR) are part of the Top 10 list.

Correct me if Iam wrong, Bidaai has gone off air then how come it is still featuring at the top of all Starplus shows. Nice to see CCBM on the list, I have seen nivedita act, she is pretty and acts well from the few scenes I have caught .She cries well too, a plus point.Were repeats of Bidaai aired after 13th nov?

It was a typing mistake and CCBM tvrs are also wrong. 😊

hope it was indeed bidaai waiitng for tam ratings now
waise kal ka bharosa nahi magar aaj to i feel channel is disapointed with lack of interest in gulal .....

SAMMY, Iam waiting for indian television article ,waise sequel article on Indya site mentioned 6.08 tvr instead of 6:06 which were the actual tvr for Bidaai for 13th nov.
