I am a huge Hema fan. I have always had one question nagging my mind. Why did Hema not get due recognition from the other music directors like a much lesser singer like Vinit did. I always felt bad because he was head and shoulders above the rest.
I am happy that karunya is not suffering that fate. Any thots on Hemu.
at the cost of being called a Hemu fanatic, I am replying to ur post..
Hema did get recognition from other music directors. I felt that after his initial performances, tehy expected a lot more from him. If you see the scores he got, they were kinda like vinit only.. i mean mostly about 8 except for that Bachna Ae Haseeno episode..he was in danger only 2wice..and by n far, Shaan always praised his singing..infact Shaan only praised Nihira and Hemachandra..
I think in Nihi's and Hemu's case, their voices were never hyped because every1 felt it was obvious. There are very few people who will say that Nihira and Hemu were NOT good... every1 knew their potential..
For good singers like this, I dont think winning such a competition is everything..if u have the right voice and the right gayaki, these competitions are just a platform.. think about it, when Shaan, Sonu and Kunal were 17, put them in a competition together.. who wuld have won!!
the participants of srgmp in particular were very young, 4 out of 5 of the top 5 were under 20 !!and at this age, these people have showed so much potential..thats phenomenal..
thats y i keep stressing tat for singers like Amey, Karunya winning this competition would be great, but then losing wouldnt be disastorous.. i mean they had proved that they are a class apart..n for people like these..this is just a stage for them t show their talents..
saying that, I really wish Karunya would win..it wuld shut all the debates about 'regionalism' which SRGMP opened..shwoin tat if a singer from south can win to be indian idol.. that shows true unity !!!
