Life imitates art for Manish |
It amazes you to see how art imitates life. Manish Raisinghani who is roped in to play the parallel lead on STAR One's Rang Badalti Odhani was taken by surprise after the character sketch was narrated to him. |
The character shared a major incident in Manish's real life. Manish was learning martial arts before he go into acting. He had to quit the art as it couldn't generate a living for him. Cut to reel life, on the show, Manish quits music which happens to be his life. He realises that his passion and love for music can't earn him money hence he takes such a decision. Says Manish: "My character on Odhani quits music with a vengeance as it didn't get him any money. He couldn't make a living from this profession. He was the unrecognised one in his band from college, a fact that troubles him till the end. This is something I had faced in real life too. I was undergoing martial art training and was quite good at it. But sadly we had no sponsors to back us for international events and the lack of money hampered my groW*H. It was evident that this art can't fetch me money and I had to quit it." "But this didn't depress me though I would admit that I was disheartened. Imagine how it would feel when the sudden turn of events make you quit something that's very important to you. Martial arts then had become my life and quitting it was really painful. After that I pursued my engineering and accidentally landed up participating in Mr. India Grasim and winning the title of Mr. Photogenic, best smile and best dressed model at the pageant. Acting too was an accident and since then there is no looking back." Your loss is certainly our gain Manish. Had martial arts continued, your fans would have been deprived of a talented actor. Watch the guy making an entry in STAR One Rang Badalti Odhani as Shaan revisits his college days from the past, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 pm.
