Nakku - dresses

hi i have a question - how come nakku dresses beautifully when she is fair even though it is a simple white salwar vs. when she is dark.........why does her dupatta have to cover her fully...i don't understand...........she could dress simply but beautifully even while she is dark can she not????? next to her dutta does look like royalty..........
