Although the show is still at a nascent stage, the forum is missing a few stickies.

Please share your thoughts, analysis and opinions on the show and episodes.

P.S. I am not good at creating topics.... pardon the to-the-point introduction.

My two cents on today's episode

Team Red were the classic underdogs who came out toppers. Had lots going against them... Weaker contestants, smaller budget amount and 10 minutes less than team Blue. Moreover, they had one less cook on hand.

Judges were a bit too nasty on Pankaj today. Wonder why they need to keep badgering someone.

I guess I am the only one posting my views, but anyway, here go my views on today's episode.

An Indian-ised version of the Black Forest cake in the Pressure Test. Rasgulla Cake (??). Sponge cakes and rasgullas, both provide ample scope for contestants screwing up.

Parul made a real illogical mistake today. Akshay Kumar has clearly specified it is a Polish soup. And very rarely, if ever, do you have Indian spices in European dishes. It was almost clear, when she guessed 'Cumin' as an ingredient, that she had dug her own grave. No wonder, even Kandla was surprised.

i think, Zebi's nomenclaturing & their disadvantages work for the Red Team. read somewhere: "Pacific Paradise Fruit Punch" seems more alluring to the consumers than a regular "Fruit Punch".

the way Akshay forking the orange dessert made by the Blue-Team was a bit uncouth. Hello! Mr. TMK, it is obvious that the dessert won't make it to your mouth if you use a fork instead of a dessert spoon!
ahem! these are my vicarious judgements. but, the tasters (customers) are always right! 😊
p.s. Zebi is a very sharp lady; i like her shrewdness.
& i like Joe for his sense of humor!

The 'packaging' did indeed work for them. No wonder, Pankaj changed the name of the soup to shorba. But I feel Zebi is playing it a bit too safe. Her strengths are currently working for her, but she needs to get out of her comfort zone to make it to the finals.

She reminds me of Jimmy in MC Austrialia. His Indian-ised recipes worked wonders initially... He was among the first two finalists. But sticking to the curries worked against him, eventually. Same here with Zebi. She couldn't pass the invention test... she cooked up a halwa instead of creating a new dish. Hope she starts thinking outside the box.

Akshay forking the dessert.... ugh. The episode was indeed going good before he went on with the tirade. It seemed he had a massive bone to pick with this team. Such censuring was not justified. Thank goodness, he wasn't around when Kandla's cake 'sank'.

Joe is the class clown, but the chap is shrewd too. Perhaps, he has a way with words, given his anchoring background.

Its going to be an uphill task for the contestants next week. Kids aren't really the easiest ones to please.

didn't watch sunday's episode but I agee, Akshay seemed particularly mean with Blue Team on saurday. I think the plan was to even out the team numbers otherwise I can't believe that none of one team's dish was good and all of the other teams' that great. It just seems so scripted like all reality shows. They should make it less obvious by atleast showing that some dishes were good for the second team as well.

^ Exactly. Its not possible that the whole spread was out-and-out bad and the Red team's dishes were perfect. I guess nearly all reality shows are more or less scripted.

Today's judging was way better. He listed out the good and the bad. That's how a judgment was supposed to be. It was rather apparent that the Blue team would win. The Reds couldn't really work the tandoor.

Pritesh

There was a cook-off between him, Smita and Kandla in the final faceoff, judged by the kids. Kids chose Smita. The judges chose Kandla over Pritesh since she had utilized the Oats better.
