What's up Peeps?!
So I'm back again with another chapter...needless to say I've been on fire lately with the writing...and a relatively slow HW week...lucky for you guys.
So I ran into the same issue with my Dumb and Dumber chapter...this chapter was starting to get really long with everything that I wanted to cram inside. So you get a Part A today's posts and a Part B sometime later on this week.
I apologize wet Prem will not be making an appearance just yet but I gave you guys a little treat at the bottom 😉 So enough of my talking/typing 😆
And yes a very very very warm Thank Yous to all those who took the time to Commented and/or Hit the Like Button. Greatly appreciated! onward to the next chapter.
Chapter 49: Rainy Season - Part A
Prem pulled his car keys out of his pocket and winced in pain. The keys fell to the ground as he cradled his wrist and cursed under his breath.
"PB," Preet said immediately noticing his condition.
Ashlesha came over and checked his wrist. "You must have fractured it. You have to go to the hospital."
Prem sulked at his condition and gave a glance towards Harman's direction. His brother understood and gave a silent nod. "Okay, if I have to go."
"You do," Ashlesha ordered. "I'll drive you there. Come on."
Heer felt a twinge of jealousy creep into her heart as she saw her cousin place her hand on his shoulder moving him to her car. "Well, how sweet is that already taking such good care of her fiance?" Sanjana said out loud making sure Heer heard.
"Well, she is studying to become a doctor," Tanya replied. "I guess he won't have to worry about getting sick or anything like that. She'll be able to treat him."
"Treat him...yup, I'm sure he'll get some special treatment all right," one of Tanya's cousins joked.
"Sshh, not so loud...stop being so naughty...behave yourself," Tanya berated.
"I think she's had one too many," the other cousin laughed.
Preet cleared his throat sensing the mood Heer was in and tactfully commented, "So, to the hospital Prashant. This is partly may fault...inviting everyone to go clubbing. Ma would kill me if she found out I let PB go alone to the hospital in his condition. "
"Oh, yeah we should go and make sure he's all right," Prashant replied realizing he had no choice but to go along with what Preet was saying. He could care less what happened to Prem but considering he had gotten hurt trying to save Heer from some drunkard he had to be slightly thankful to the guy. Preet gave a sly nod towards Harman's direction which his brother understood and then walked away.

Heer sat in the waiting area of the emergency room fidgeting nervously. Part of her was anxious and worried about Prem's condition and the other part was still angry at him for the way he acted earlier in the day. Meher gently placed her hands on her sister's knee, "Heer Didi everything is going to be all right."
"I'm just so frustrated with him," Heer replied. "I'm still upset with what he did earlier and now he had to go get himself hurt...he could have just walked away..."
Preet sighed as he came walking back into the waiting room, "Well, Harman's got the photos developed and says it just a bunch of scenic pictures of Toronto and of the hotel. He, Kunal, and Sang are going back to the hotel to put the negatives back into Prashant's room."
"Do they know where to put them back?" Meher whispered.
"PB called Harman and told him where," Preet answered.
"I hope he places them correctly. Prashant isn't even drunk...what if he notices something?" Meher asked worried.
"Harman will take care of it," Preet reassured.
"Wait, how is he going to get into his room without a card key?" Heer asked.
"They're stopping by the hospital to pick it up from PB," Preet replied.
"But Prashant," Meher warned.
"He still has to take us home. I'll just lie and say I'm tired and get him to drive us home. Maybe we can offer some chai and snacks or something before we send him back to the hotel," Preet smartly replied. Meher smiled brightly at him and gently locked him into a loving gaze. Heer coughed as she saw them slowly lean towards each other forgetting she was sitting in between them. "Should I get a room for you two now?" she teased. Meher turned a dark shade of red while Preet quickly turned away and rubbed his head staring at the magazine rack to his left.
"Here's the coffee," Veera announced as she handled Heer a cup.
"I've got the cream and sugar packets in my purse," Maya said. "Didn't know how you guys like to take your coffee."
"Where's Ashlesha?" Prashant asked as he handled Preet his coffee.
"She went to go check and see how much longer it will take," Preet replied.
"I never understand why it takes them forever to do something. I mean they make you wait for 30 minutes to get checked in and then once you're in the room they probably spend only 10 minutes with you and then leave you waiting for another 45 minutes to an hour just sitting in the room waiting for them to return with some prescription or something," Veera vented.
"That's just the way it is sometimes," Maya answered. "I hate it too but there isn't anything we can do about it. You're brother should be out soon I mean Ashlesha seems to know some of the medical staff here. So maybe she's making them speed up their work on him."
"Hey guys, Prem Bhaiya still getting checked out?" Harman asked as he entered the waiting room.
"What took you so long?" Prashant innocently inquired.
"Oh, um, had a flat on the way," Harman lied. "Took me awhile to figure out how to properly position the crank and get the tire off."
Everyone sat in the waiting room feeling tired and bored for sitting so long. Veera and Maya spent their time quietly chating while Meher and Heer browsed through the magazines. Preet, Harman, and Prashant sat playing games on their cell phones. Eventually Ashlesha returned with Prem in tow. "It's a fracture," Ashlesha simply reported. Prem had his right hand in blue cast and he was looking very gloomy. "Cheer up will you. It could have been a lot worse," Ashlesha said noticing his mood. "You're lucky I knew the doctor who was treating you otherwise you could have been stuck waiting in that room for another 30 minutes."
"How am I going to write?" he asked. "Or type with this stupid thing on?"
"Gosh, I've never heard anyone whine so much for getting properly treated. You should be thanking me not whining," Ashlesha replied.
Heer looked on at their interaction feeling a bit annoyed at the way her cousin was taking care of Prem. Her mind flashed to what she had seen at the club; their romantic interlude and she grew sullen. She diverted her eyes when Prem glanced towards her direction and she clenched her jaw trying to keep her anger in check.
"So how long does he have to wear the cast for?" Veera asked.
"Oh, 6-8 weeks...I've got his prescription," Ashlesha said and handed the paper over to her. "He's supposed to take them 3 times a day or as needed for the pain."
"We should go get this filled now," Veera said.
As the gang started to leave they ran into a familiar group of people forcing everyone to stop in their tracks. Prem's eyes narrowed as he saw Ravi come out of the emergency room hallway with a bandage on his nose. Ravi's friend walked over and confidently threatened, "You know we should really report you for assault."
Prem twitched at his remark and walked forward only to be held back by Preet and Harman. "Assault, I'd like to see you try that," Harman replied.
"He threatened to kill Ravi in front of everyone in the club," the friend smirked. "I think everyone heard him very clearly."
"And everyone knows Ravi tried to assault Heer first. He was only doing what was right," Harman countered.
"Doing what's right? A broken nose, bruised ribs, and a mild concussion?" the friend continued.
"Ravi threw the first punch if anything Prem was defending himself," Harman replied. "Stop all this nonsense. You don't have a case."
"You should know when to quit while you're ahead," Prashant said interjecting into the conversation. "Everyone in the club saw what really went down. You guys should just stay away. Don't even try to cross my fiance's path again or I won't be very forgiving...we'll file a restraining order against him."
The friend stared at Prashant with a confused look. Every indication that night during the fight pointed to Prem having the relationship with Heer not him. He glanced at everyone's faces and saw the deathly glares he was receiving and decided to just keep his mouth shut. He lowered his head slightly knowing what they had said was right and quickly left the waiting room with Ravi.
"Fiance, huh?" Prem replied in a curt tone at Prashant. He was irked by the way Prashant had gotten involved in the conversation pretending to be like the big hero while he was the one who actually did something that night to save Heer. "Tell me where the hell where you?!" Everyone looked on in surprise by Prem's sudden outburst. Preet held his brother back afraid there was going to be another fight again that night.
Prashant narrowed his eyes as he got closer to him. "I appreciate what you did but don't forget your boundaries. I'm Heer's fiance and you're Ashlesha's. Why don't you take care of yours and I'll take care of mine?" Prem's eyes sparked with fury as the image of Prashant kissing Heer flashed through his mind. He puffed his chest out and fidgeted causing Preet to tighten his grip on his shoulder. Harman placed his hands on Prashant's shoulders trying to make him back off.
"Ahem..." Maya coughed trying to break the thick tension building in the room. "So, that prescription needs to be filled tonight right, Ash? Where's the closest pharmacy around here?"
"Right we should go do that right now. Veera you need a ride home right?" Ashlesha inquired. "Why don't you come with me and Prem to the pharmacy?"
"Yeah, sounds great," Veera replied in force cheerfulness as she glanced worriedly at her brother who was still giving the death stare to Prashant.
"Let's all go home," Preet announced and patted Prem's shoulder trying to snap him out of his brooding mood.
"Heer...Meher, I'll drop you guys home," Prashant simply stated and started walking away. Meher glanced back and saw Preet giving a reassuring signal to her it was okay to follow him. She gently clutched her sister's arm and made her walk forward. Heer looked at Prem who crossly diverted his eyes unwilling to look at her. She sighed and walked away with Meher.
******************************************
Heer rounded the corner at the front lobby making her way to the offices. It was her second week working at the hotel as an intern. She greeted Shelia, the receptionist as she entered and went into the main office area. She made her way down and sat in her cubicle which was directly to the left of Prem's cubicle. Their relationship had become a bit strained after that night at the club. Both of them were unwilling to make the first move to apologize as the misunderstandings and hurt feelings that night continued to linger with them. Prem couldn't understand why Heer was acting so cold towards him and he was still being haunted by the images of Prashant and her kissing. He was further upset over the fact that Prashant had bought a new car for Heer to drive as an apology for his behavior and couldn't believe that she had actually accepted his gift.
"So how's the Volvo S60 doing?" Prem asked.
Heer gave him an impatient glare, "Don't start with me," she replied.
"I'm just asking about the car," Prem answered.
"I accepted it because I had to...my Dad knew about it," Heer curtly explained. "Why are you getting so upset over a stupid car?"
"I'm not getting upset...I like the Volvo S60," Prem sarcastically replied.
"Can we not do this now? I have to finish these reports," Heer said.
"Fine, go finish your reports," Prem said and sat back down at his desk. He stared at his computer screen and frowned as he continued to slowly type with the index finger of his right hand and his full left hand. "This stinks," he grumbled at his slow pace. He slammed his cast down on the table annoyed that he had to wear it for another four weeks.
"Prem, stop doing that," Heer cried. "Be careful of your wrist."
"It doesn't hurt," Prem replied and banged his cast on the desk again to show her.
"You need to stop doing that. What if you break your cast?" Heer asked.
"It's hard as a rock. I don't think it's going to break any time soon." He then whined, "It's itchy and it smells." He grabbed an envelope opener and tried thrusting it into the cast to scratch.
"Prem, the doctor told you not to do that," Heer replied. She grabbed his hand preventing him from using the opener. "Will you please stop messing around?"
"You can go back to your work," Prem replied annoyed.
Their conversation was interrupted when Preet and Harman came into the office. Prem turned to them and saw the seriousness of their mood and knew it wasn't good news. Harman grabbed a chair from a nearby desk and sat down while Preet just leaned on the cubicle wall. "All those pictures you took in the digital camera are normal contracts and business deals for the company nothing really out of place or strange about them," Harman informed.
"Are you sure there isn't any place you haven't looked?" Preet asked.
"I've searched everywhere," Prem replied. "He probably put them someplace else, d*mn it. I swear I saw them."
"We're not doubting you PB," Preet replied. "He probably hid them some place safe. The question is where?"
"Hey, don't the rooms have safes?" Harman asked. "You think it's possible he placed it there?"
Prem's eyes flexed, "That's the one place left to check."
"But how are you going to get into the safe?" Heer asked.
"You can unlock them by resetting the code," Prem replied. "We don't know his code and if it gets reset he will know for sure someone's been snooping in his room."
"Don't worry PB, we'll figure something out. We could make up some story about the safes needing to be checked...a faulty lock or something that needs to be replaced. We just get someone to pose as the safe company guy or something...and there you go," Preet smirked.
Harman grabbed his little brother's head affectionately, "Where do you come up with these ideas?!"
"It just comes naturally," Preet smirked.
"I can't do it this week. I'm super busy with school and work...Heer and I have that trip to New York this weekend for that vendor contract," Prem replied.
"Don't worry we can take care of it. You've got all us here," Preet said. He then gave a sly smile at Harman, "I think it's time we tell Bauji we like to learn a little more about the hotel business."
Harman looked at his brother with some confusion, "There is no way Bauji is going to let us do this safe thing."
"Obviously we won't tell him the truth. He'll understand. As long as he doesn't know by us not telling him he won't have to worry about getting in trouble with the law. Come on Harman even you should understand that rule in law," Preet said.
"I do. We just have tread carefully to make sure nothing happens if we get caught that could point to any clues that Bauji knew about this...we don't want to get Bauji and this hotel into any mess," Harman replied.
"PB you concentrate on your work and let Harman and I plan out the details," Preet said. He then leaned over and whispered into his ear, "NYC is a great romantic gateway...try to pacify Bhabhi somehow." He then smiled and gave an encouraging squeeze on his brother's shoulder.
Heer eyed Preet suspiciously while he simply ignored her suspicious look and dragged Harman away.

Prashant sat at the restaurant table and gently swirled his fork around gathering up the spaghetti noodles to take a bite of his food. He chewed and looked at the person sitting in front of him with a thoughtful grin. "You're not hungry?" he asked after he had swallowed.
Sanjana picked at her food with her fork and then looked at him curiously, "How can you act so calm about everything?"
"What do you mean?" Prashant asked as he took a sip of water.
"You're going to destroy someone's life," Sanjana replied.
Prashant laughed, "You telling me that? Oh, that's just too funny. What about you, huh? Running around chasing after someone and causing all sorts of misunderstandings?"
"That's different," Sanjana defended. "Emotions are one thing."
"Is it really?" Prashant inquired arching his eyebrow. "And I like to think what I'm doing as an investment."
"Everything is so business like for you," Sanjana replied.
"Well, it is," Prashant said. "It doesn't really matter if the property comes into our hands...I'll be married to Heer...it just changed ownership but it's still within the family."
"I highly doubt they are going to see it that way," Sanjana said.
"It's all in how you look at it," Prashant replied. "Oh, by the way thanks for the advice with the gift."
"She liked it?" Sanjana asked.
"She tried refusing it at first but you were right about letting her father know about it. She couldn't refuse after that," Prashant said.
"You're not exactly out of the dog house yet. You kissed her without permission. No girl is going to be forgiving about that," Sanjana replied.
"Yeah, I know. But I have to say I was mildly surprised by the outcome. What luck to have Prem witness the whole thing," Prashant chuckled. "Heard her arguing with him over the phone one time. They've been pretty rocky."
"Don't get too smug now," Sanjana replied. "They can still make up with each other. Aren't you worried about their business trip together?"
"No," Prashant replied. "She's pretty upset with him I really doubt she's going to forgive him."
"Never underestimate the power of love," Sanjana said.
Prashant chuckled, "Oh, now you're giving love advice?"
Sanjana shrugged her shoulders, "All I'm saying is don't underestimate it."
******************************************
Prem nodded his head as he heard the instructions being told to him over the phone. "Okay, we will. See you soon. Bye." Heer looked at him with a questioning expression. "Will isn't going to be able to make our flight. But he's getting on the next flight. Something happened at home and he had to take care of it."
"Will he be able to make it in time? The next flight is probably cutting it close," Heer replied.
"He said if the worst should happen that we will have to take care of it," Prem said.
"You're serious? What will the clients think sending two interns like that?" Heer asked.
"I've been working with Will on this contract since the beginning so he knows I know what is supposed to be done. And you've been handling the client's feedback and responses really well. He says he has complete faith in us," Prem said. Heer bit her lower lip feeling a bit unsure about the whole situation. "We don't have any more time to discuss this," Prem said as he checked his watch. "We need to go through the security check point now if we are going to make our own flight." Heer nodded and followed him to the line.
The flight went smoothly and it wasn't long before they arrived in New York. They caught a cab from the airport to the hotel. When they arrived they were warmly greeted by the check-in clerk. "There should be two rooms. One under Heer Maan and the other under Will McKenzie but he should have called in to let you know Prem Juneja would be here to check in," Prem instructed.
The clerk smiled and looked through the computer logs. He furrowed his eyebrows and then cautiously grinned at them. "One moment Mr. Juneja," he said and walked into the back office. Prem and Heer glanced at each other wondering if there was some issue. A few minutes later the clerk came back with a manager following behind him. "Mr. Juneja, I'm Ken Smith," the manager introduced. Prem nodded his head and wondered what was going on. "This week has been a popular booking as there have been a lot of conventions going on. It seems we've accidentally doubled booked your rooms. I sincerely apologize for our mistake."
"So you're saying there are no rooms available for us?" Prem asked.
"No, there is one room available. But it isn't the one you booked," Mr. Smith answered.
Prem looked at Heer, "You go ahead and take it I'll find another place to see if I can get a room."
"Sir, it's been extremely busy this week for all the hotels in the New York area. I don't think you'll be able find a room. The room available is the Penthouse suite. There's room enough for both of you if you don't mind sharing. We can deliver a pull out for you at no charge. And as compensation for our mistake you will only be charged for one room the original room that you booked. And room service will be free at no charge," Mr. Smith said.
Prem glanced over at Heer wondering if she'd be willing to accept the room. "It's okay Prem. It's only for the weekend," she replied.
"All right. But the minute any rooms become available let me know," Prem said.
The manager nodded, "Thank you for your understanding. Here are the card keys and the elevators are off to your left over there. Just hit the Penthouse suite button and slide the card key through the slot and the elevator will take you up to your room. Enjoy your stay here in New York."
******************************************
Prem opened the French doors that lead out to the balcony and walked out staring down at the busy city streets below. The sun was slowly setting and he could see from afar in the skyline some rolling gray clouds gathering. He hoped the rain could wait until they arrived safely at tonight's venue before pouring down. Prem turned around just as Heer emerged from the living room. His eyes took in the sight of her wearing an elegant long one shoulder black dress. He could barely register what was going on around him as he continued to stare completely taken in by her beauty.
"Prem," Heer called slightly irritated. "Prem Juneja!"
He blinked and suddenly refocused to his whereabouts. "Huh?" he replied.
"I've been talking to you for the past 5 minutes have you heard a single thing I said?" she asked. "Never mind...the bathroom is free."
"Oh, thanks," Prem replied. "Um, Will called earlier while you were getting ready. He's not going to be able to make it. His flight got delayed. So he said for us to go ahead and sign the contract with them. They are old clients of ours so he said there isn't much to worry about. He called them and told them it will be just be us two. Apparently they know Bauji and are eager to meet me."
"That's good," Heer replied. She then looked at his cast, "Do you need some help?"
Prem glanced down at his wrist and gave a sheepish grin realizing for the past two weeks his brothers had been helping him get dressed and undressed. "Um, if you don't mind. I have trouble with my buttons but the rest I can handle," he replied. "I'll call you when I need help."
Heer nodded and walked back inside to wait for him to call her. She glanced around the luxurious suite and how it was like a small apartment. It had an office, living room, mini kitchen, a dining area, and a second bathroom. As her eyes gently drifted towards the bedroom door she felt a nervous jittery feeling in the pit of her stomach. It suddenly dawned on her that they were completely alone and they would be spending the night together in the suite. She was still bitter but despite her feelings she was beginning to miss him. She wanted things to return to what they were before that night at the hotel and the club but she knew that was impossible. He had hurt her so much by taking that revengeful act at the club. She couldn't understand why he wasn't owning up to his mistake and continued to act like he did nothing wrong. She heard her name being called and she entered the bedroom to see Prem in his black trousers struggling to put his white dress shirt on. He had his left arm in one sleeve while his right arm was stuck midway through the other sleeve because of his cast. He frowned as he flung his shirt about. Heer shook her head slightly at the sight and walked over to help him. She could smell his cologne; the scent was intoxicating to her senses as she pulled the right sleeve over his cast. She tried not to stare at his well define chest while she worked on buttoning his shirt but her eyes would gently linger on his bare skin noting the supple texture. Prem softly gazed at Heer mesmerized by how close she was to him. It had been such a long time since he had been this close to her. His body ached to hold her in his arms and kiss her sweet lips. He wondered how much longer their silent fight could last. He straightened his back and diverted his eyes when she announced that she was finished.
"You need help with the bow tie?" Heer asked. Prem nodded and she went to find his black bow tie. When she turned around again her eyes widen at the sight of him unzipping his trousers and she quickly turned her back towards him. Prem stared at her wondering what her problem was as he tucked his shirt inside his pants not registering what he was doing in front of her. "Um, are you done?" she timidly asked.
It was only when Prem tried zipping up his trousers did he realize why she had his back turned away from him. He felt embarrassed as his cheeks grew warm and in his haste to get his pants zipped his shirt got caught in the zipper. Prem broke out in a cold sweat and he hesitantly asked, "Um...Heer could you help me?"
A nervous tingly sensation ran down the back of Heer's spine upon hearing Prem's request but she turned around anyway to see him looking at her with a rather apologetic puppy dog face. "It's stuck," he simply stated. She walked over and gently wiggled the zipper as she tugged at his shirt. Prem felt his heart racing in his chest as she worked on getting his shirt out of his zipper. After a few seconds his shirt was freed and Heer began tucking in his shirt for him. He was surprised by her actions but his body didn't mind as he felt one hand tug at his pants and the other hand moving around his waist as she tucked in his shirt. He closed his eyes taking in the new scent of her shampoo; an orangey-mango. When he had sensed she was about done he opened his eyes and reached down to zip up his pants. He was surprised to find her hand already there. He gently grabbed it causing Heer to look up. Their eyes met and locked into a heated gaze. A crimson blush crept into her cheeks as she felt embarrassed by her actions while Prem swallowed hard as a thousand tingly sensations spread though his body. He guided her hand upwards zipping his pants closed. "Thanks," he whispered.
Heer immediately turned away feeling flushed and was about to leave the room when she heard him calling her, "Um, Heer my bow tie and cummerbund?"
"Oh sorry," she said and quickly tied his cummerbund and bow tie for him. Prem sat down on the bed and began working on his socks. Heer frowned at the sight of him putting them on lopsidedly. She sighed and motioned him to sit further back on the bed so she could pull his socks up for him without her having to bend down. Prem grinned and did as he was told. Heer then helped him put on his suit jacket. She straightened his bow tie and stood back admiring her work with a gentle smile. He was looking incredibly handsome in his tuxedo. Prem noticed that it was the first genuine smile she had given him since their fight. His eyes gazed intently at her lips and the way they curved upward. The room seemed a whole lot brighter to him than before. But it was short lived as Heer noticed the way Prem was staring at her and she corrected herself immediately; the corners of her mouth falling level again.
"So, shall we go?" Prem asked realizing the moment had passed. Heer nodded and grabbed her clutch purse and followed him out of the Penthouse suite.
******************************************
So there you go...the last part is a little treat of PHomace...something is definitely cooking between the two despite their fighting...oh what will happen now they are all alone in a lovely Penthouse suite? Who will be the first to cave? And why is Prem all wet? 😆 😉 😳 So Chapter 50: Rainy Season Part B will be coming soon...
And I've been slowly combing through the Creations Gallery and found some very lovely creations (seriously some fabulous sig and avatar makers we have on this forum) and I've gathered some up...at least for the next coming chapters I'll be switching out sigs and maybe avatars as well to match what's going on in the chapters...a kind of preview hint since I'm not really writing Pre-caps right now 😆
The night sig is my creation...will not much of one more like cropping an existing pic I found and slapping a border and some text on it 😆...if you are wondering what city that is...it is Seoul, Korea.
Comments Greatly Appreciated!
