Chapter 2

Aayi saab enters the Patil nivas with Naku, her mother and her little brother Sethji behind them. All of the family members were seated in the living room and looked up to see that Aayi saab had returned from the Mandir. Kala looked at the three people behind her mother and asked

"Aayi saab yeh log kaun hai?" to which Aayi saab replied that she has hired them as servants from this day onwards. Everyone looked at her and nodded their heads. Kala, Leela and roops looked at Naku and thought what new plan is this of their mothers. They did not like it one bit, when they looked at Naku who was really beautiful. Kala wondered what if Bhau starts to like her or develop some feelings for her. Then she started to laugh inside her head and thought he would never, because he hates pretty faces.

Aayi saab asked one of the other servants to show them to the outhouse where they will be staying so they can get settled in. She told Babi that she will be in-charge of the kitchen in making the food and Naku will assist in various duties of the house. She looked at the little brother and said that from tomorrow he will be going to school. Sethji looked at his aayi and said

"Aayi mere ko school naji jana, mujhe parayi pasand nahin." Whined Sethji.

Babi scolded her son and said no you will go to school it is important to study.

Couple of hours later..

It was night time everyone was sleeping now, while Naku was cleaning up the kitchen and was headed to the living room to tidy up the place. Aayi saab was sitting there with her maara, praying and waiting for her son to return.

"Aayi saab mera kam hogaya, mein chalti hai, agar aur kuch kaam hai to bata yein?" asked Naku.

Aayi saab nodded her head in a no and told her to go and rest for the night, she will wait for her son.

As Naku was walking looking down, she bummed into something hard and strong and almost fell back. She looked up and met with an intense, strong, angry looking guy his eyes were so dark. She was terrified at the sight she saw.

"Eh ladki, dekh kar nahi chal sakthi kya!" roared Dutta.

Naku hearing this got shaken up a bit.

Upon hearing Dutta's voice aayi saab looked up and saw her son was home safe and sound. She released a big sigh.

"Maafi saab." Replied Naku as she looked at him. Aayi saab walked up to them and told Dutta

"Dutta beta, yeh Naku hai ise aajhse maine kaam par lagaya hai."

Dutta looked at his mother and said "Kyu? Itne saare naukar toh hai."

Aayi saab looked at his son and replied back "Beta she helped me today from falling down the stairs at the mandir. If she would have not caught me on time, I would have been hurt bad."

Dutta started to get a worried look on his face and approached his mother "aayi tu theek toh hai na? kahi choth toh nahi ayi?"

Aayi smiled and nodded her head in a no. She said that she wanted to do something nice for the person who helped me, so I gave her and her family a job here. Dutta looked at Naku and said

"Shukriya ladki, Meri aayi ki madad karne ke liye. I am indebted to you for life. My mother is means everything to me in this world to me."

Naku looked at Dutta and replied back "You don't have to say thank you saab, I did what any other person would have done and is help someone."

He started to walk towards the stairs, but was caught off guard as something was tagging his hand. He looked to see what it was and saw that Naku's duppata was stuck in-between his watch. He looked at Naku's eyes which were soft, innocent and truth in them. He un-hooked the duppata and made his way up.

Aayi saab looking at this, thought of the pandit's words and smiled. She saw that even fate was tying these two together, now only was left was how to convince her ziddi son.

"Naku beta, go and take a plate of food for Dutta. I know my son; he must have not eaten anything outside and will be hungry."

Naku smiled at Aayi saab and made her way to the kitchen to take the plate to his room.

Naku knocked on dutta's room door and waited for a reply. Dutta turned around with a glass of scotch in his and saw that the new maid was there he asked "Yeh kya hai?"

"Saab khana, aayi saab ne bheja hai." Answered naku she walked more into the room. Dutta signaled her to put the plate on the table as he will eat it later.

Naku proceeded to put the plate down and said "Saab khali peta sharab peena acha nahi hota."

Dutta turned around and looked at Naku fiercely and walked up to her to intimidate her. Naku stood her ground and did not budge from there, she stared into his eyes.

"Kya boli tu? Khali paith sharab peena acha nahin hota?" Dutta asked, still looking at her with an intense look.

"Naku started to fidget with her duppata and said "Saab aayi bolti hai that drinking on an empty stomach will make you throw up, and feel worse next day with a bad hang over."

Dutta smirked at her innocence and drank some more from his glass. "This is not the first time that I am drinking."

He turned around at went to the window to look outside. He closed his eyes and said "Go, I will eat my dinner."

Dutta turned around and sat down to eat his food, while Naku started to walk back out of the room.

"Eh sun, Khaane ke liye Thank you." Said Dutta.

Naku turned out and smiled at him and nodded her head. As Naku was walking down the stairs she kept thinking that Saab is not a bad person, he has a good heart, but does not let it show to people.

Dutta started to eat his food and thought she is so small, but was not afraid to tell me what she thought. Her eyes, voice there is a truth to it. He shook out of his thoughts and started to finish his meal.

Meanwhile in the outhouse ganpat had arrived drunk and was making a huge scene with Babi. He was yelling at her, smacking her around and asking for money. He wanted to go and drink some more, but had run out of money. Naku walked in as she saw he was about to hit her aayi, when she stopped him

"Baba what are you doing? Why are you hitting aayi."

Ganpat turned around and in a drunken state told her that he wants money and her aayi is refusing. Babi was on the floor crying, Naku went beside her to console her. Ganpat walked up to the cupboard and took out box which had some jewellery that babi had made for Naku for her wedding. He took the earings and was walking out with it, when Naku tried to stop him, but he smacked Naku on the face.

He pushed her towards the table and she hit her head on the edge, she had a split lip and her head was bleeding. Babi after seeing what ganpat had done to Naku got up and said

"Chaala ja yahan se, meh teri shaakal bhi nahin dekhna chahti hoon. Tu ne aaj naku par haath utha ya. Are ek beti toh meh kho chucki hoon teri wajah se, abh baas aur nahin chaal jha." Yelled Babi.

Babi was furious with her husband, ganpat just smiled and walked out of the outhouse laughing, while Babi bent down and hugged her crying daughter.

Precap: Dutta sees Naku's split lip and bandage on her head.
