Yesterday was a good episode...The confrontation continued unabated..Joining the circus was Pratigya ...The entire Allahabad was a solemn witness to the public spat of KP ...angered K stalks off..Pratigya trailed the erupting Krishna after getting briefly introduced to Mom M...Mom M worried over the kind of relatives she is getting as the dowry ..but Aman Assures Gift will be returned !!
Amma comes and emotionally blackmails Kesar into agreeing willingly for Shakthi's remarriage..All in the honorable pursuit of a waaris ..As a sweetener , She offers Kesar family heirlooms and and as a further sop, she assures her that she will always be the BAdi Bahu..She also tells that Kesar is lucky unlike her cos when she [Ammma] did not conceive ..GD went all out to get SS re-married ...Amma was all sugary with Kesar...
Sax enter the den of TN reluctantly and cover their hesitancy with over cheerful talks.... ..Ss is all Solicitude, Amma breaks out into her spicy self and Shakthi is as cheerful as a depressing winter ...In walks the warring KP..Nainaji invites K for Aarushi's engagement..K politely declines but assures that Pratigya will come....When queried for the reason..Krishna bombards them with a few simple homilies which leaves them gasping for breath ...SS eyes pop out on hearing the kind of house Aarushi is getting into...he rapidly begins to do his math and calculates various ways to derive maximum benefit ...
I seem to read a lot of posters condemning Pratigya completely...I beg to differ...Pratigya's actions and her intentions were not wrong ... with her mindset [she always roots for underdogs]..it would have been astonishing had she been mutely watching the thrashing of an already injured Thief ...She intervened to save him from the Mob's wrath ...which is commendable ... she tries to make a maddened crowd understand the importance and sanctity of law and judicial system which again is in sync with her makeup ....And here Krishna interferes and gives a realistic and accurate portrayal of what will actually happen if a case is lodged which stumps Pratigya for she recognizes the truth in his statement ....
She tries as a perfect wife to calm and sooth him ....which is wonderful ...but what is not appreciated is the inclusion of Aman's name in her efforts ....{I definitely would not relish if my hubby brings up my SIL while trying to calm my frayed nerves }..she erred here ..This was the only blight in otherwise correct attitude of Pratigya ..
Aman is supposed to be antithesis of Krishna..All finesse,tact,diplomacy and refined ...Yet yesterday he meddled in what was a hubby-wife quarrel ....How did his etiquette permit it ?? And then after all the that holier than thou attitude, sermons on Law,rules,court,Police...what does he do when Krishna shoves ?? He comes haring back to return in kind..where was his ideals ...shud not he have called the police and filed a assault case instead of spoiling for fight !!
Amma let slip one piece of nugget which seems to have not been picked up by any posters...Amma said that GD tortured her when she came as a Bahu to this house ...Moreover when she did not conceive immediately GD was on a Bride hunt to get SS remarried ...does that mean that Amma is giving back what she received ... Amma learnt the art of treating Bahus from GD ..If GD was so heartless.. How and why did she change...What is the reason for her docility now...Why has she cloaked herself in silence ...
