The following excerpt is from Yashraj Films.

Yash Raj Films announces its next release, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. Directed by Maneesh Sharma and Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film stars newcomer Ranveer Singh along with Anushka Sharma as the lead pair. The music has been composed by the talented duo, Salim - Sulaiman.

Shruti and Bittoo are just out of Delhi University. A chance and inopportune meeting brings them together to reluctantly start a tumultuous entrepreneurial venture as Wedding Planners. Their business enters the ups and downs of the lavish world of the glamour and glitz of Delhi baaraats and weddings that will test their friendship over time.

When I read that I couldn't help but be reminded of Rishta.com....even though they probably aren't too related to each other...

Here's the first look of the movie:

I guess the entrepreneurial bit about two ppl coming together to form a business right out of college is quite reminiscent of RoSha and the way they formed R.com.....but RoSha were matchmakers and these two seem to be wedding planners....matlab no hand in matchmaking, but all the madness of planning loud Punjabi weddings....lol.....

Yep just saw the trailer

and Bitoo Sharma's character is far from Rohan's but the dialogues seem witty regardless...I think it will be a fun movie. I agree if there was actually a movie version of Rishta.com it would be awesome...

Remember seeing the promo for the first time and all it did was remind me of Rishta.com, besides obvious differences, the fact that it belongs to the same production house- I suppose the comparision was inevitable. Makes me reminisce about Rishta even more.

LOLLL thanks for posting it, Fatty.....most pleasant surprise for me is that R.com is actually being remembered and talked about by film journalists etc.......yeah the comparison is obvious and inevitable....they really shouldn't be surprised that they are being asked this question.....although I won't say that the movie is the same....they've branched onto into the shaadi business to get the whole naach gaana masti etc. to make a masala movie while Rishta.com was about a matchmaking business.....but the whole 'two young ppl coming together to form a shaadi/matchmaking related business will make anyone jump to the comparison....lol

lol.. the interview cracked me up.. I agree with Nureat.. BBB is the masalasized version of R.com.. I mean it's pretty obvious where the idea came from cuz the same production is hosting it.. the main difference I think here is that the story is more about shruti and bittu falling in love via the business but R.com started out on a complete diff notion.. it was about the actual business rather than the actors.. and as speculations about the show coming to an end came to surface that's when they brought in focus of RoSha as a couple I think..
the movie looks cute.. but nothing beats R.com
